Hi, I have a Hippo V2 that is doing something very strange. I used this Hippo for a couple of months, when suddenly I started getting an OP reading on my Provari. I have tried several different attys and the same thing happens. I took the Hippo ring off and voilà everything works fine. I took the Hippo apart and found that the center pin appears to be one solid piece of brass. So, why do I keep getting the open reading on my mod? Before you ask, I don't have a multi-meter to check the voltage from the output side of the Hippo. Has anyone came across this issue? Any suggestions?:confused:

The Hippo V2 is a beauty ring that has a connection that bridges the gap between the mod and the atty.

Thanks:
Whats new in Hippo V2 :

- Almost absolute hide of the cone

- Excellent flash sitting of the atomizer

- Bottom air feeding

- Adjustable center post to meet all atomizers with 510 connection

- Brass center post for best conductivity

- Option for stainless steel 304 or brass finish

- Improved air feeding control (from zero to rich)

Sounds to me there's a center pin contact problem either between the provari and the hippo or the hippo and the tank.
Notably the link says the hippo v2 has an adjustable center post to meet all atomizers, so you should be able to put the hippo on the tank and adjust it and verity with a meter that you have a coil reading with the hippo in place on the tank;

Separately you can put the hippo on the mod and (carefully!!) check for voltage on the 510 interface of the hippo to see if the voltage from the mod is making it to the hippo. Hard to do with 2 hands but doable. wrap some tape on the red probe to prevent shorting out
