I gradually cut down. I've been vaping for a good 10 months now & was a pad smoker for 8 years. Started at 12mg nic, but found that to be to harsh so went to the 6mg. I'm down to 1 pack of analogs a week now & about ready to give those up.

I would like to write to OP quoting your message. My friends, if you can not leave smoking it has only one reason. "Your nic level is low" Buy some VG (has to be vegetable glycerin approved for food industry) take the harsh for you level liquid, dilute it slowly untill you find them no-harsh point (if you add 1/2 of the amount you pour to tank 12mg would become 9). If you had enough nic You would not crave for cigarettes.
On the other hand coming 2-3 from 15 is an ashievement you should be proud of. So dont count the ones you smoked. Look at them you did not smoke. and dont fight with them always consider you can smoke when you like. But vape more when you liked one and if it still insists go ahead smoke one. If you get enough nic from vape you will find your cigarettes stink.

Since I received my first cap email package I've had two analogs, and both were from nights out at the bar when my battery died. I now carry backups and normally have backups for my backup in the car at all times. Always having a charged batter and plenty of juice was the key for me. Vaping has become more of a hobby now than a full blown addiction.

I still smoked for 3 months while I vaped. Must less and was kind of jealous of the people who could quit right away. It's normal and like others said above less cigarettes are a win. What I did eventually is vape through one time that I really loved to smoke and just get through that time. This could be after a meal or in the morning, before bed.

Good luck man. It's hard, but very easy compared to other methods of quitting.

i stopped because i had the vape gear and it was high enough nic juice that cigs were not appealing.

everyone is different in that regard, you can bump up your nic if you get more cravings or just take more vapes...it takes about 6 mins for the nic to kick in and then...no more cravings...it gets easier over time

just keep vaping and the rest will follow

While that is true for a lot of people, it isn't entirely true. The psychological dimension can be powerful (taste, habit), and although vaping is similar, it isn't the same. Some people probably need to lower their nic level so they can vape more without becoming nauseous or suffering respiratory irritation. It is also increasingly certain that some people are addicted to chemicals in cigarettes besides nicotine.

For me, only WTA eliquid and snus have allowed me to actually quit and remain sane (well... you know. Mostly :) )

A friend of mine, who had upgraded to more serious hardware (MVP), sent me all of his old gear (Volt) and flavors. I messed around, trying this and that, until one flavor kicked in (Cherry on Top). The nicotine level must have been high because I hardly got any sleep but I completely forgot I was an analog smoker and just stuck with the vaping. Try maxing out your nicotine level in your favorite juice. Good luck.

I started vaping 4 months ago and I still haven't quitted analog but I gradually cut the number of analog quite naturally. There were times when I vaped and smoked >10 cigarettes a day but I only have the need to smoke 1 or 3 per day. Few weeks ago I've reached the phase when after every analog I think "what have I done, do i even need this?". Not because I want to quit because analog started to taste horrible and it even makes me dizzy so I guess that next phase is "zero analog" phase.
So I think everything is OK with you and you should feel proud of yourself because you managed to go from 15 analogs to only 2-3.

I smoked analogs for 25 years, between a pack and pack & 1/2 a day. I had wanted to quit for some time & had tried pretty much every way under the sun to quit- with no results. I had the "luxury" of getting the nastiest flu I think I ever had last February. I didn't have a cig for a week- I couldn't. My throat was so swollen and torn up it was the last thing I wanted. Once I started feeling better my urge to smoke also came back with a vengeance. I picked up a Blu from the gas station. It worked. It wasn't awesome, but it worked. A coworker had been vaping for a year or so and pointed me in the right direction. I then went on my journey of finding my perfect vape- and was surprised at what a good time I had doing it! It took some time, but I finally settled in to my current set up about 2 months ago. Happiness! Haven't had the need for any new gear since then. The best thing is that vaping for me brought a 25 year habit that was going to kill me to a screeching halt. It still amazes me. And to answer your original question, I haven't had a cigarette since that last one I smoked right before the flu. I think I'm lucky that way though- I'm sure many people struggle to finally give up the analogs.

The thing people should keep in mind is that it is different for everyone. But just remember to celebrate even the little victories. Every cig not smoked is a victory. Try & build off of it and before you know it, you've won the war. But never beat yourself up for trying!

Then craving for vape gear started..
Tell me about it. I've been vaping for 13 days and I've been analog-free for 9. I have NO craving for analogs, but vape gear is another story. Yesterday I ordered up a Vapor Shark DNA and right now I'm trying to fight off the urge to order up some Svoemesto goodies. ;)

Funny you should mention that, actually. I did 'quit' once before when I was really ill - probably for a month or so.

I've got no idea why I started again when I got better, but I did...

I am still struggling with smoking analogs, but whenever I smoke one, I vape first and then ask myself if I really need the analog. If I think I do, then I smoke one. What ever they put in regular analogs in addition to the tobacco makes them more difficult to give up. I figured while I am still smoking analogs, it would be good to get rid of the additives that make it harder. So, I tossed my Camel Turkish Golds for American Spirits; and after two days plus vaping, I find myself craving the Camels again. Proof for me that the additives that BT adds makes them much harder to stop than regular tobacco alone. So, I am whiddling away at the addiction while learning how to carry, maintain, and use my vape gear in all the different circumstances that pop up in life.

Hi deathnote,

my experience to get off the analogs:
i was using gas station disposables and knew that the 18mg nicotine dosage was not enough to stop completely.
was a 1/3 pack a day smoker for last year and a half - and found that could not get under 5 cigs a day but wanted to stop my wife's griping. so.... bought a cigalike starter kit from Halo (the G6) and got a sampler pack of juice at 24mg nicotine dosage.
once i received the kit ...
5, 4, 4, 3, 3, 1, 1 was the number of cigarettes, i used per day with the kit.
to be honest, the last 1 cig on Sunday evening right before bed as not really necessary.
then no more analogs.

the nicotine dosage i believe is key to stopping real cigarettes (and finding a flavor you like).
yes, it gave me a buzz at this initial level, but the buzz is key factor to quiting analogs for me.
buzz and throat hit from the nicotine content.
Still had cravings for real cigarette quite a few times since then, especially after my first beer since quitting.
But i had my ecig on me and it helped put out the fire so-to-speak.
did my first step down on nicotine content about 3 weeks after stopping analogs.
i have just stepped down to mixing between 12mg and 18mg this week.
vaping hard during the step down is normal from what i've heard and i myself am experiencing.

Happy Vaping / Be Healthy / Happy Holidays.

So i've been vaping for 4 days now but still can't stop myself from having 2 or 3 analogs every day. I used to smoke about 15 before I started vaping. Would like to know how other members stopped using analogs, gradually or as soon as they picked up an e-cig.
