I didn't realise I was rehashing an old debate, as I explained I'm new to this so naive maybe is all! However it's interesting to read some of the replies. I guess some would happily wear a cloned Rolex or Panerai then as they still tell the time!!
Here is my take (sorry it might get long winded)
There is PROOF that selling counterfeits directly benefits drug cartels and terrorist organizations. I am a handbag lover. I don't
buy fakes. I take it upon myself to educate myself so if I buy second hand, I'm not buying a fake.
You can call me a brand wh or shallow or whatever. My bags don't define me, it's just something nice that I like.
As far as
vaping supplies, I don't know if selling of fake or counterfeit products directly benefits terrorist organizations.
IMO everything is made in the same warehouse then just stamped with the manufacturers name.
Here is what I think..
Counterfeit/fake-someone passing off the item as the "real" branded/trademarked thing...think handbags, clothing, watches, shoes etc.
clone-same thing, same build etc but not branded (this is what makes me think sometimes that certain items are all made in the same place)
Knock off/copycat-a design that's taken from someone else's design and maybe tweaked or changed a bit but still mostly the same. Designers do this ALL the time.
I watched a thing on Ray ban sunglasses. The company that manufactures ray ban actually makes pretty much every branded pair of glasses you find, all in the same plants. So whether you buy Vogue glasses from Walmart or Chanel glasses from where ever, they're all coming from the same place.
All in all, tl;dr, if I knew that buying fake products supported crime, poverty etc, I wouldn't buy those fake products. Until then, just buy what you want.
