I have had a middle-aged woman get .....y because I wasn't in an identified smoking area. I told her to get facts together in a bit different terms. I just have no tolerance. I guess I just have grudge against ignorance. I am reading all I can about the chemical innuendos and other information. I try.

P.S. My wife said it was smoking. She doesn't bring up the subject anymore.

What I really love is when I mention that I quit smoking, and am vaping instead, and the reply is "oh, well, then you didn't REALLY quit"! Like if you're not trembling and sweating thru withdrawal, then it doesn't count. These same people would applaud my decision if I stuck patches on, or constantly chewed nicotine gum!

Tellin' ya... I think smoking cessation trauma is real and it makes people mean! I had one quit where I was so awful that even the people who had been my most loyal "cheerleaders" were offering to buy me a pack of cigarettes!!

There is such a widespread perception that vaping is so much the same as actual smoking, that when you do quit tobacco with it, people don't "get" that it's actually still a quit, and for many people, to varying degrees, still a challenge. It's been a month for me and every so often I still crave tobacco. I think that's why I keep buying new juices ... because I'm still missing whatever is missing and constantly trying to satisfy it with new flavors. Whatever works, right?

Might I suggest some tobacco blends from Killer Juice? Walt goes for tobacco smoke flavor and not leaf. Cherrywood and Menthol Blend became the 2 flavors that I actually prefer over cigarettes and I ended up quitting smoking even though I wasn't trying to quit, just cut down by using those once they arrived.

As much as i used to love analogues, I really can't see myself going back to them. ecigs are what I've been looking to get out of smoking for all those years; it tastes great, isn't as bad for my health, I can vape in my apartment and I get to buy new devices to suit my mood/personality (much to the dismay of my wallet).
I've turned a few people to ecigs and generally don't feel any hostility from analogue smokers; if anything they're curious and I'm always open to answer any questions I can.

Tru dat. I spent a month in Group #2 looking like Grumpy Cat on a worse-than-average day. Although I believe that Grumpy Cat's days are always worse than average.

Now I'm a happy member of Group #3.

I jumped right intro Group 3 and 36mg of nicotine. By my dislike for smoking, I only vape the minimum according to my urge. I found that I vaped less. I am glad for that trait. I know it is not the "vaping" that is what others might do, but I am simply trying to get away from cigarettes.

After a month, I am down to 24mg. I noticed a touch more usage, but, I understand what my body is telling me, I hope. As I settle in (65 days), I want to move away from the standard moments like after eating, waking up, and just getting in the car.

I do enjoy vaping, but not in a smoking way. One step at a time.

I've got one old lady in my office who says that she wishes the whole ecig "fad" would just go away.

She's about 75 years old. Been smoking since her teens. She has chronic breathing problems and constantly complains about strong perfumes, colognes, air deodorizers, etc... causing her stress while breathing. Yet she never misses that cigarette break, even in the worst weather.

She's also one of those people who hates change. Any change. No matter how obvious it is that the change is better, she will not change. For example, she gets her electricity through TXU. That's all she's ever used as an electricity provider. She got her current apartment when electricity rates were really high, near 15 cents per kilowatt hour. She's still paying that rate even though rates through other providers have dropped as low as 6.5 cents, and are currently around 8 cents per Kwh. I've told her how easy it is to change, takes less than 10 minutes on the computer, but she's still complaining about her bills and stays with TXU because she hates change.

So her, I just ignore. I don't bother trying to educate or convert, I just don't talk to her at all.

Alright, I get a lot of trash talk by cigarette smokers, especially from my cousins. I've been vaping for a good amount and I feel great! So every time I would take a toke they would always say something like "That S***T is annoying." "You vape too much!" "That S**T smells!! ". I always end up laughing and having to explain to them how much safer it is...yet they don't listen. I just think its funny whenever we have the same convo over and over again. Most of the time its me who gets the last word in trying to convert them to start vaping. Just wanted to see if I was the only one going through this?

I get more curiosity from non smokers and at times criticism. Smokers seem more curious.

The one i used to get at my old workplace was "You don't if that's gonna affect you in the long run", the reply's always a snappy one to do with tar usually. Basically people are looking for an excuse to get rid of ecigs because they're the only effective alternative to cigarettes and governments don't like it.

Most of the time it's some randomer who's giving me hassle, i just tell em it's how i like it, i didn't ask for this conversation ect. ect.

As we all know the earth is Flat. Anything that upsets the conventional wisdom is heracy and must be ridaculed and driven from our midst.
Witness the recent rash of cities banning and/or restricting vaping in public areas without benefit of evidence of harmful side effects. Simply because it resembles the act of smoking tobacco.
I've never been approached by an anti-vapor but I think my response to such an event would be simply I Do Not Wish To Participate In This Discussion and turn my back to them. Arguing with one fool creates two fools.
Until the government is collecting taxes and adding their required bureaucracy, the tobacco companies get their piece of the vaping pie, and the nay-sayers actually try vaping, the earth will remain Flat

Smokers just want to try the vape themselves.. most of them are interested in them but it hasnt caught on fully yet in europe. They usually want a taste of the vapor and either get interested themselves or just dont like the taste. Used to have a Cigarette lookalike vaper [yes with the pre filled cartons .. bad idea]. so ppl wouldnt even notice i was vaping half the time..

I haven't run into this problem here in Greece (at least in Athens). The people I've been around either already know about it and don't mind, or have tried it / are trying it themselves, or don't know and are just curious and ask questions. No weird aggro stuff. But we don't have the same demonization of smokers here, so I guess that's why we don't seem to have the same kneejerk demonization of vapers (that I've seen).
