the pretwisted coils you speak of are more for dripping style atty's and usually never perform anywhere near the level of a handwound coil using better wicking.
and while the prerolled wicks are available there is no control over the quality or amount used as well as the price being too high for what little you get as well as not being able to customize the size for the atty you are using (they all have different wick hole sizes).
so in true DIY spirit its not worth mentioning - But they are there, kind of defeats the purpose of this to build it yourself but become supplier dependent on a part thats absolutely needed yet simple to do with practice..
the best thing to do is learn to roll then yourself, skipping all the crazy oxidation and just use the petar k method (burning the end) or non oxy method. if the fda somehow shuts down vendors your going to have to figure it out anyways.
