Where are you going to buy your e cigs if online sales are banned?

I've been buying pharmaceuticals online from offshore sources for years, can't afford the domestic brands. The websites cannot be controlled by any US agency, and apparently US Customs has given up on trying to block the individual packages, despite pressure from domestic vendors ...

There was a period about 3 years ago when the packages (from the Seychelles) were delayed in Customs for "inspection", presumably to discourage commerce with certain vendors, but it just meant waiting an extra week or two for delivery, they always came through eventually ...

Those delays mysteriously stopped last year, and now I get my packages in about 10 calendar days. I assume Customs found their policy to be ineffective and costly ...

Sadly, any attempt to ban or regulate nic juice will just drive the business offshore, at a time when we need every new opportunity we can find. There will always be other countries or jurisdictions that will take advantage of a growing market and reap the profits ...

Maybe this is a totally dumb question, but could big brother require ISP's to block access to these overseas sites that carry the product(s)? That would effectively end everything because if you don't have access to the site, you can't order. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong or if this is just a ill-informed way of thinking.?.?

Having said that, if they DID ban e-juice,,,,,,I make my own, 0mg nic, so no loss, no foul for me,,,,,,

If I absolutely had to, I could make a box mod,,,,,,,,and I'd get an RBA.

Not really up on the fine details of the structure of the web, I'm a mechanical guy. But a good friend who actually understands how the web works assures me that its virtually impossible for a government to completely control website access. The Chinese have tried, but kids are more creative in finding ways to beat the blockers ...

I actually saw an e-cig (err, "vaporizer" I think it said) online yesterday being marketed as a mini flashlight. I am not concerned that hardware will become unavailable.

I do not see how any agency can control non-nicotine liquids or ingredients. I'm not at all concerned that candy flavorings, VG, or PG will become unavailable. I'd imagine that flavored 0-nic juices would still be easily available.

That leaves the nicotine, which I could imagine being regulated, taxed, maybe eventually banned or banned in some areas. That's the item I'd be most likely to stockpile. To add to my flavored 0-nic juices and vape on my own hardware, if necessary.

So what is the shelf life of nicotine, and how is it best stored?

I think people don't understand that the 'deeming' happening in October DOES NOT mean a policy will be implemented in October; it simply means that the FDA will 'deem' what they want to regulate and how they want to regulate it in October ...then they are required to give 90-days for a 'response' period. Even if, after the response period, they move forward with their original intent, it will take some amount of time to implement (depending on what they are implementing) - things like labeling guidelines can go fairly quickly, but a full-on ban could, and probably would, take a few years (if ever, depending on litigation). Some of the things being touted about would require changes in law and policy ...which require approvals of all 3 branches of our highly-efficient government (I say that tongue-in-cheek, but they can be highly-efficient when it comes to getting something they really want ...like additional tax revenues).

Clearly, I don't know the exact time-frames and details, but it's not like they are going to flip a switch in October and the lights go out on a $500-million to a $1-billion a year industry. I'm not saying there's no reason for concern, but I'm 100% certain that's not going to happen.

To be honest, I'm thinking the FDA (and Feds in general) are the least of our worries ...it's the State and Local governments (as we are seeing in CA and NY right now) that we ultimately need to concern ourselves with. The one saving grace, in my opinion, is it's far easier to move out of a state than it is to move out of the country. ;-P
