I bought my first ecig, about 6 months ago, an njoy for 140, pplus 25 bucks for 5 carts, wow, whatafrikinripoff, but, when I finally decided, a month ago, to get into cutting down on kools, I was HAPPY, blessed, overjoyed, cause, now I smoke less than 20% of what I used to, and I am LOVING IT.:thumb:

Of course, an obsessed ...., like me, has over 30 ecig devices, so far:p

I'd gotten very sick, which caused everyone to freak and start giving quit-smoking advice (as if we haven't heard it all already). My boss asked if I'd seen another employee's "fake" cig. When I finally did, she took a draw and when I saw the end light up, I thought, "Well, isn't that the cutest 99 cent toy ever." But then she blew out great billows of beautiful smoke.
I almost fell over and scolded her, "What the BEEP are you doing?" (Because we were indoors at work).
She laughed and explained what little she knew. Then said her mother sold them for $90.
I spent a few weeks researching. While I'm glad she hooked me onto them, I wish she'd research first. I keep talking to her about e-cigs and she has little knowledge. She's just content to puff on it from time to time. I asked her if she'd even given thought to what she was inhaling and she just shrugged.
I however became obsessed. Within a couple of weeks, I found what I wanted at PureSmoker. Steve had a good price and a phenomenal reputation. What I appreciated most? The blatent honesty. This is the place to go if you want to know how long carts last, the truth about battery and atomizer imperfections, etc. IE--there's no BS.
I bought a base kit with a few extras. Then I screwed up and think I OD'd on the nic. I was ready to give e-cigs up but after refocussing and some SE (Steve Eduation), I got on track.
I have been smoking 3-4 pks a day for 15 years (that excludes 4 pregnancies). Today, I smoked "A" pack of cigs. As in ONE. Most people don't think that's a big deal, but my poor husband and children were thrilled. They never thought they'd see the day.
For me, e-cigs may have well saved my life.
I am truly grateful!
Today I ordered the pink mini. While, I've never been "girly," I couldn't help myself. Cute and for a good cause.
All I can say is, thank you so much Steve! And THANK YOU to this forum for the education you gave during my search.

And that...in a HUGE walnut shell...is how I discovered e-cigs.

P.S. Wish you could seen the look on my pulminologist's face when I tried to explain them.:D

I first heard about them on the gadget blog Engadget. It was about the ruyan cigar. I soon forgot about it and later when I decided to give up I went onto NRT and was missing something. Good thing Engadget did another story about ecigs to remind me! So I found the gamucci and looked at the videos, did some googling and found this place! After watching dusys videos I got me a penstyle and a 901!!

I was attracted to the blue LED (shiny shiny bright bright light light)

Me too :)

I was shopping for hubby's birthday gifts on the geekstuff website I've bookmarked for that purpose and came across the Gamucci.

Went to Ebay for a cheaper alternative, but have since spent hundreds of quid.

Hubby still smokes analogues :(

I just got him an e-cigar loaded with 36mg French Wicked, so we shall see for how much longer :D

At the begining of the year, I was outside smoking with a colleague and we were having a good moan about not being able to smoke in US hotels, I was going to Denver and not looking forward to the thought of standing outside in the freezing cold. He asked me If I had heard of electric cigarettes, apparently they were all the rage in the gay clubs in London! Needless to say I thought he was a bit mad but was interested enough to google it, found a crown 7 website, but couldn't find anything for sale in the UK. Then by chance a couple of months later I found an electronic cigarette for sale on e-bay. So many months later I am now a confirmed e-smoker, and no longer have to stand outside in the cold or rain, what a joy :)

Hi,

As a member of the HollidayTruths forum, on the section about Cruises was a topic regarding the smoking rules becoming more draconian . The electronic cigarette was mentioned, looked it up, and have now cut down analogue cigs from over 40 a day to about two or three. I didn't intend to actually stop but I am drifting that way, and my COPD has improved which has to be a good thing.

Cheers

Dave

I'd never heard about e-cigarettes until mid September when my neice visited and showed me her Gamucci. That night a quick Google brought me to this site and after reading almost the entire forum over a few days, I ordered a 901.

I'm not analogue free yet, but hope to be before the photographs of diseased organs start appearing on my Pall Malls!

I just got here, I will probably get my first ecig tomorrow. For the life of me, I can't remember how I got here. Possibly a reference on SA forums or tv or ..something. I can say that more than six days ago (thanks for being so specific firefox) I googled 'electronic cigarette'. Followed that to some websites, eventually getting here through a link on (I think) phylo's shop.

I heard about eCigs on the BBC Website... bingo players being encouraged to smoke 'em while crossing off their numbers! Did a google to find out more and ended up here.

I've been lurking for a few weeks, listening and learning from everyone else and so far I've bought 3 starter packs, DSE901, DSE103 (Super Mini) and RN4081 (Super Cig). This buying thing is just a bit too addictive :) Having said that I still haven't smoked any analogue cigs for over 4 weeks so not complaining.

Still haven't found a decent flavour though... everything I've tried so far is too sickly sweet for me - more lurking necessary to find a decent recipe. :)

On the polish equivalent of digg, there was a link to the online shop with Milano ecigs. It interested me, and I wanted to know more about it, especially it's users opinions, so I typed "e-cigarette forum" in google, and here I am. I've spent 3 days(like 8hr a day) reading this forum and decided to buy one, It came yesterday and I'm very happy with it(I've smoked only 1,5 analog cig today :D).

// EDIT: FINALLY I have the option to edit my posts, muahahahahhaha. A Hint to admins: I undestand the limitation on creating topics and posting links, but disabling the edit option IMO has no reason. I often saw that I made a mistake after I posted the message, and I couldn't change it.

Hi Lil, welcome to the forum. I love your name, it reminds me of my mum, she used to call herself Fagash Lil when she was playing poker, lol.

How do the super minis compare with the 901 mini for you? Are they as satisfying to use?

Hi Kate, thanks for the warm welcome. :) So much to say but I'll try to summarise.

They all give off about the same amount of vapour. I use 2/3 cartridges and 2 batteries per day no matter which type I use so differences there. The 901's mouthpiece is the most comfortable but having said that, I always return to the first one I bought and that's the DSE103. There's two reasons for this. Firstly, the sweet sickly taste I can't take to isn't there (have a theory about this). Secondly, there's one particular combination of atomiser and battery that work especially well together and give real satisfaction every time. I don't think that's something which can only be achieved with the 103, I think I just struck lucky with the parts because a second battery works adequately but just doesn't quite hit the same spot.

My theory relating to taste comes from the fact that the 103 was ordered from a UK supplier not listed on this forum. I ordered high strength pre-filled carts and I immediately felt no need to smoke analogue cigs, thought the new efags were great. When I ordered second time around I intended to gradually wean my way off nicotine and went down a notch to something a little less strong. That's when the sickly taste started to come in. Now, I'm not sure what the recipe was for that first batch but everything I've tasted since has the same sweet taste so I'm sort of summising that this is the intended base to every recipe. I figure Wicked's stuff has been sort of "policed" so I regard his products as safest and I have some of his tobacco flavoured eLiquid and it's identical. I daren't re-order the first batch from the original supplier just in case there's something dodgy in there. Something else which has just occurred to me as I'm writing this is maybe my tastebuds have come back! Smoking 20 Regal Kings a day for 20 years has to murder your tastebuds right? I might be talking through my backside!

I've lots of questions about flavours, travel, cleaning etc but perhaps not these aren't meant for this thread. I've read nearly everything but still have 9 pages or so of the newbie forum to go and don't want to offend anyone by asking them to repeat the advice they've already given.

By the way, love this forum. It's informative without being lawdy like so many other places out there. You've all done a fantastic job. :thumb:

My local discount tobacco store started selling the Njoy so I got the high $ end indoctrination (j/k?) and purchased one immediately because it was still cheaper than regular cigarettes

I found this website shortly there after with all the fantastic information and advice.
I've learned alot from everyone here and have converted my husband, son and now my sister. So, thanks to everyone out there!

I learned about ecigs while sifting through Yahoo answers, out of boredom, and found some person's post about whether or not puffing nicotine was safe (she described an ecig in her post). I followed the link but found out the starter kits were $150, so I began searching for a cheaper one. I found this forum as a result of my search.

Everyone here has such a wealth of information about such an unknown device. I told my fiance that I found an underground society, lol, that's how it kind of feels. We all share a common bond that many (read, nonsmokers) can't identify with, if that makes sense.

I really want to thank you guys for all the great info I've learned so far, I can't wait to get my ecig soon!
