Personally, I don't care if it's frowned upon but I generally try to stay as respectful with my clouds as I did with my cigarette smoke. I'm not out to push my personal traits onto someone else but at the same time, I want to be given the same respect that I show but unfortunately, more often than not, it never goes that way.
In any case, Vape On!

I vape pretty much where I want to, although sometimes more discreet then on other occasions.

It is always easier to ask for forgiveness then to get permission imo ;)

I like that :p . My boss is a non smoker/ non vaper I don't think she'd understand. I only get two 5 min breaks and a 20 and I'm sorta having the pacifier effect being a noob and all :p.

When I started vaping years ago, I pretty much vaped wherever and whenever I felt the urge. It wasn't really frowned upon as much then.
I keep it on the down-low these days. I don't mind at all talking about vaping to anyone who is genuinely curious but I'm pretty much burnt out defending it against folks who you can't convince anyhow.
In the car (work and personal) and around the house is pretty much it these days, my office is technically off limits but since there are only a few of us there, it's tolerated as long as none of the bigwigs are around.

I usually stick to the general rule of vaping only if smoking is allowed. Many places already have those same restrictions in place (i.e. NYC, Disney parks). About the only difference is where I would never smoke inside my own home when I smoked, I do vape. And when I am out walking on the street, I do try to be a bit more respectful. Since my vape clouds are larger than my smoke clouds were, I do try to exhale downward when vaping in public with people around (i.e. walking down a crowded street) as others may not be appreciative of having to walk through a cloud (albeit a fruity one) hanging around their face.

The only difference between where I vape compared to where I used to smoke is I now vape in my office at work and inside my house rather than outside. Everywhere else I follow the same routine as I did when I smoked.

I try not to be THAT guy that makes everyone mad by blowing their clouds around people who don't want to be exposed to it. Like it or not, that's precisely the type of behavior that gets people supporting bans.

These days people tend to include air in their personal space (me too). They do not want to see somebody's clouds even close to their faces (me too). So, I do not vape in places where I can offend somebody with my clouds. I have trained myself to be able to go for hours without vaping - when shopping, flying, sitting in a meeting. And how sweet is vape afterwords! Vaping is hard on taste buds, it dumbs them down, may be even kills them (vaper's tongue). Giving rest to them could be very gratifying.
I'd wish I could go for a day(s) without vaping, to vape for pleasure, not because I have to. Not sure I'll ever be able to achieve such perfection.

After 20 years of not smoking in my house or in my car (and the last 5 years or so in or near any building at all), I freely vape in both with my wife's total approval (bless her!).

While I understand the "only vape where I could smoke" stance, the problem I have with that is that I finally quit smoking for health reasons. It has been drilled into us that the dangers of second hand smoke is as bad as smoking. Why should I be forced (or volunteer) to vape in an area filled with second hand smoke? Is that really that much different then going there and lighting one up? Seems to me if I agree with and accept that premise, I am contributing to the declaration that e-cigarettes are, in fact, tobacco products. I'll try to be considerate of others when vaping, but I don't want to become a "closet vaper."

Nobody was more considerate of others when I smoked and look where that got me. I don't want to see that same progression with vaping.

Hmmm, I better answer if I confessed where I don't vape....damn, I even stealth vaped in the hospital earlier this year when I had a major back procedure. I guess I'd have to say that I try to be conscious of my surroundings. Non smokers don't get it....I've had some tell me that vaping is even worse than smoking. I just smile and tell them to pull my finger if that want to experience something worse. At 76, I am still captive to those values that were taught to me in the 40's and 50's. You know the ones, don't ever fart in church unless someone else does it first. Things like that. I am not embarrassed to be a vaporite, but I see no value in making a big public display of it either. Stealth vaping in public had worked very well for the Cranky Old Man...USE your own judgment....just remember that a lot of unwanted attention had been directed at those of us in the vaping community lately. I'm too damn to old to get dragged into the controversy....good luck and Welcome Home to the ECF Family....some of us are old and cranky, some of us are nuts, but all of us are family...

Im pretty new to vaping myself so I try to stick to doing it where people smoke. Which actually helps me a bit, helps me realize I don't need cigarettes to get away if that makes sense. But I will tell you what, it is nice sitting on the porch with an Orange Cream Soda (recently quit drinking after 20 years also), some banana split flavored juice and wasting the day.
