I'm a believer that this should be left to chemists in controlled labs not someone getting into it because of a booming industry. FDA approved flavoring companies abide by rules and regulations for a reason... our safety.
Good regulation is a good thing, no question about it. I guess my problem is that I don't trust the FDA to engage in good regulation. Their track record is spotty at best, and "FDA approval," while not completely meaningless to me, is also not serious assurance that the approved thing is necessarily safe. It seems to me the whole regulatory system is corrupt. The regulated has far too much influence and power over the regulations and how they're enforced. Public safety is not so much the goal as maximizing profit.
So color me skeptical that the FDA will actually do anything good. What they're much more likely to do, in my opinion, is whatever the deep pockets and big political players want, and what they want is to eliminate this whole
vaping business altogether.
