Where my current setup stands

Just today I got my long awaited fasttech order (one of the two, I'm missing the 5 RDAs) I'm incredibly excited for the sub ohm kit after seeing the results. The only thing my REOs will have that won't be stock-looking is the sanded area around the spring, and I rather have it that way. So for now until the glorious sub ohm kit comes out, I'll keep rolling with my common car fuses .

I got 4 Sony 30 Amps batteries. Tested performance compared to the AW IMRs. They hit harder but not by that much. The AW IMRs have 0.05V-0.1V more drop than the Sony 30 Amps. They are good, I'll be using them quite a bit, just that I had to lower the height of the fuse legs because they are a bit taller. So 2 AW IMRs dedicated to one REO and 4 Sony 30 Amps to the other 2, because once I pull the fuse legs down, the AW IMRs don't fit.

I was waiting on 5 yk1 RDAs that I ordered about 5 days before the batteries, and yet they are still strolling around Miami. I did get an IGO-S, IGO-W and mini RDA clone (I think the original is called the Octopus? ) Dropped a .5 and .7 ohm coil on each and started dripping. Ah, the memories. I do like dripping at home, specially those flavors that are good just for a bit, and would tire your taste buds out in 30 minutes. My greatest struggle has been finding ADVs. Thank God I've finally come close to that. Still, the more flavors I can have readily available, the better. Alternatively, I could have you guys do a fundraiser and buy me 10 REOs. There, a bunch of flavors ready to roll.

Switch those two AW IMRs for Sonys (they were charging) and that's exactly what I got.

0.5 ohm micro coil on the igo-s.

I can't see your pics, j. I also got an igo-s in the mail today. Love it. Not so much the igo-l. I think the top cap is too big on the L and mixes too much air in with the vapor. Car fuses are working out great for me as well but definitely look forward to Rob's upgrades.

Yes I definitely like the igo-s better than the igo-L and that's not because I need an adapter for the igo-L .
I also got an igo-W where I'm attempting a quad coil for sure.

i got an octopus looking thing - i could tell immediately because the coil looked like a Bob Marley lynching. I don't much go for having to modify drippers and if i did something like the cyclone would grab my attention.

I'm not sure that electrically speaking quad coils make much sense unless you use such high R wire that you have to reduce at all costs. Will you have to drill 4 airholes? (i'm kidding!)

I wanted a couple of sealed RDAs for home use because I got so many flavors atm that I wouldn't use for much than an hour that I need to get rid off.

About the quad coil, I'll attempt it with 32g kanthal, do a bunch of 3 ohm micro coils.

After using them all day let me tell you, the difference from the RM2 is worlds apart. They just don't compare at all. Not only that but the voltage drop on all of them is 0.1-0.2V higher than on the RM2. All of them have a tighter draw, so I must likely will be drilling the airholes. Well, for the price, they are decent.

My igo-s took alot of experimentation and tweaking before I got it to perform right. Now, tho, it's really quite good. I plugged the airhole and drilled a new one higher up. I gently sanded/polished the chrome off the pos. 510 contact area. After that, it was a matter of trial and error and finding the one coil type and location that works. Not worth the effort VS. RM2; but once you've got one (igo) it's pro'ly worth finding the sweet spot.

The igo-s is the best of them all stock. I guess in a bit I'll toy with them and try to get that sweet spot, but for now they do decent for what I want them to do. But my tinkering side will take over soon enough for me to start messing with them

I was thinking 4 micro coils at 3 ohms would net somewhere around 0.25 ohms. With my fuse I can't do that so that's part of the experiment .

huh? 4 coils at 3Ω = 1/r + 1/r .... = 0.3Ω - sounds like a lot of effort for little gain to me. I am a naturally lazy SOB and my dual coils are wrapped around the same wick, so none of this 'drill 2 holes in your atty' nonsense!

I think the fuse would blow just as fast with both scenarios since fuses blow with current rather than how cool i am. I am using a mini 10A fuse a la monkey and co, since it seems to have primate survival built in!

i had thought about a straightforward point to point solder fuse on a PCB, but getting standoffs for the board is a pain and sucking solder is a definite FDA no no.

I do dual coils by stacking one above the other. I have yet to do one wrapped on the same wick. The increased height of the second coil gives off a warmer vape and a bit more intensified flavor, probably due to the increased wick volume. On the IGO W I could pull off 4 separate micro coils. Then again Rob's sub ohm kit should withstand 0.3 ohms easily. I probably won't be vaping it if at all, but it's something I definitely want to experience. My sweet spot is 0.5-0.6 ohms.

the net of 3 @ 3 would be 1. This I've tried, and know. In fact, I just remembered I did a quad 36g; and my math panned out. It's simply 1/4 the resistance of any 1 of the four equal coils.

That 22 gauge is gonna be Thick as hell. Let me know how long the heat up times are. Keep in mind once heated it's gonna stay hot a long time.

22g? you'd need welders gloves to wrap it! I had enough trouble with 26g and as for that damn R41 - i bought a vice for the corner of my table to wrestle with that.

Assuming the trend is right, as I moved from 30g kanthal to 24g, it does take longer to heat but hell it stays hot for quite some time. It is very thick, I haven't fired it because I could only fit 8 wraps and it measured at 0.3 ohms. With the fuse, it'd blow.

On a 16ga blunt tip needle it was surprisingly not that hard to wrap. Although that may just be because I've gotten really used to 24g kanthal and nichrome, so it wasn't that much of a different as if I had jumped from 28g to 22g. I'll hold off until Rob's kit to test the 0.3 ohm 22g kanthal.
