I've been searching the forums for a good place to get nicotine for DIY liquid. I've found many of links to webpages with xmg VG xmL liquid for sale. But I have some questions.

1. Does xmg represent the amount of nicotine?
2. Does xmL represent total liquid volume?
3. How can you extract your own nicotine?

I like to garden, and I will be growing tobacco in the future. It would be nice to create my own extract for e liquid with this homegrown source! Let me know what you think.

You can extract nicotine by just letting tobacco soak in VG on very low heat like placing the jar on a heating pad. You won't get pure nicotine 99% but depending on how much tobacco you use it can be plenty strong enough to vape since we don't vape pure nicotine anyway. HOWEVER, you won't know exactly how much nicotine is in your solution unless you get it tested at a lab, so this could be dangerous. The first time I did this I used 2 oz of burley tobacco in a 1 qt mason jar. 1 hit and I was spinning and got a bad headache so I know it was a very high nic concentration. Next spring I am going to grow my own tobacco and try again, but this time I will send my product to a lab to analyze before I try it. Of course this is just because I enjoy the hobby of gardening, and I want to make juice from totally pure organic tobacco which you can't even buy commercially. But if you just want to mix your own, the cheapest and easiest way is to just to order a liter of pure nic from china for about $200, a gallon of VG or PG, and some flavoring from flavorart. This is how the juice suppliers do it.

Extracting doesn't sound like fun: How to Make Pure Nicotine - Info Barrel

Sounds like nicotine is water soluble. This is good, however; using this method could be dangerous because you won't know the concentration of nicotine in your product. This will take some experimenting. I'll post when I get around to this. I will ask my biology instructor how to measure the nicotine levels. It may be some method of chromotography.

1. If you know how to measure the concentration of nicotine in a substance, let me know!

Growing tobacco for your own use is not illegal. It is only illegal to grow and market and sell your tobacco. Who do you think Seedmans caters to.

Well then....I apologize :) Although it made the whole idea much more intriguing

Here's a good link:
