Hey guys, new member here. I first started vapping about 1 1/2 year ago when i first saw the "smoking everywhere" both at the mall. I stupidly rushed over and spend $120 on 1 unit, a refill cartridge and a case. This e-cig broke on a weekly basis but had lifetime warranty so i continued to receive new ones everytime i went to the mall. I soon did more and more research because even tho the device wasn't top notch i still loved vapping. I soon discovered the joye 510 and ms. t's bakery (thanks e-cig forum), paid about half the price of my original unit and got 2 complete devices and some wonderful juices. I've been using my joye510 from ecigexpress.com for about a year now and i really want to upgrade. don't get me wrong, i'm completely satisfied with my 510 but i just want something with a better battery. This is where i am now: which to choose and more importantly where to buy it from. I've heard great things about the joye ego but i just dont know where to get it from, there are so many websites that offer it, all within maybe $10 difference from each other. I really wanted to know what is the general consensus on which e-cig they really really think is superior/where to buy from. Thanks!

I had the same experience with the Smoking Everywhere that you did, but I gave up on it quicker. One of the best and least expensive starter units is the Riva lite bundle from Liberty Flights. Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

There's really nothing lite about it so don't worry about that. The only thing it's missing is one cone cover, they normally have 2. That'll get you a battery that's about 4x the capacity of the 510. Most users report 6 to 8 hours of runtime.

&...

eGo 510 kits from LF: 650mah (standard kit has 2), 900 (not kit, just batt), 1000 (eGo-T with 5 click shutoff feature)
Riva 510 kits: 750mah (Lite kit has 2 batts, 1 cone, 2 atty) - $29.99 hard to go wrong!

Main thing to remember on LF is to click the 20% off in the upper right of the site - to get the 20% discounted pricing to show. If you forget, you can still put ECF or October20 in the Discount Code field.

I've not shopped the other 2 since I was lucky to have great luck so far with LF (14 orders and counting). Their warranty and standing behind their stuff is to die for ;)

Since we're talking about changes - as one said, anything 510 should work on these. MY personal preferences so far are the Boge 2ohm cartos and I do like the (albeit pricier) eGo-T tanks/attys. Dripping is great with the EM LR510 atty on the Riva SE (or the Rivas in the Lite kits too). Just got done trying a few new samplers from FSUSA in my SE/EMLR combo... WoW... fun!!!

I think the 510 atty's are great and love the bigger batteries of the ego style. I'm also using an "Ego Tank" and like it a lot too....especially when driving. On suppliers---I picked Cignet because I wanted color! Just a reminder, you can use your existing 510 atty's/cartridges with the Tank Batteries.

so what is the difference between the ego and the riva? just different brand names? Funny story tho, i stopped by the "smoking everywhere" booth today. it has been turned into a "Smoke 51" stand and they claimed to sell an ego kit! haha, it looked legitimate but he was trying to sell it for $150. I told him about websites that sell it for less than half that price and he told me i'm paying for good customer service and a lifetime warranty on the kit. SO i asked him how much just for 2 atomizers and he told me they normally sell each atomizer for $50 but he'd make me a deal... haha needless to say i didn't buy anything but it was still funny/outrageous to see what they are up to.

There's no better or worse, just preference.

The lower the ohms, the warmer the vapor and harder the hit when you use it. fwiw, you shouldn't use these lower ohm atomizers on a standard size 510 battery (or mega either) because it can damage the battery. They are only for use on the bigger 510 threaded devices (like riva/ego).

If you've been vaping away happily on a little 510, you might really appreciate the lower ohm atomizers (aka LR atty - Low resistance atty) IMO.

edit; HOWEVER I heard a couple people had a problem with the SE kit but can't remember what it was (dead/dying atty's maybe) so I don't generally recommend that one just in case.

Good luck! :)

yeah, i dont know... i'll probably just buy the lite because its $5 cheaper and they have the same parts... like i said earlier i love my joye 510 but i just need something with better battery life. fyi, i bought a pcc for it when i first got my joye510 and it fails to work now... i believe the battery charger spot is gummed up or something but the way the damn thing is build you can't get in there and clean it.

The kits I bought for Xmas gifts (and myself, too!) were the $29.99... I got black and titanium. I love the Riva titanium color... it's very gold/elegant looking. I mixed/matched the gift kits to give each recipient one black and one titanium. Back then, the black ones were an older kit, and actually had an LR atty in each. Of course, I pilfered those quickly! Can't give those recipients only ONE of those and expect them to be happy with the other standard one! Let them explore further enhancements later in their process...

Not at all stingy on my part... not at all ;)

just purchased my black riva 510. very excited. $30 for 2 batteries, usb/home charger, 2 atty's and 5 cartridges is a pretty damn good deal!

Yes, that's a good deal. You'll be amazed how the battery life improves. :)
Only thing now is that the new charger can (most likely) not be used with your smaller 510 batteries - even if they do fit the threading. Maybe you are aware already - but better safe than sorry.

Edit: Didn't see a Riva cone listed... It's not necessary, but might add to a better (more "complete") look. It will also influence the air flow and temperature of the atty - cannot tell to which degree, though.

Yeah, i was looking at the cones on liberty flight. the kit i have comes with a round tip i believe but i do want one flat tip with the ridges so i can hold it in my teeth easier but seen they were out of most of the colors other than like pink. I've seen all these crazy mod's you can do too like direct atomizer dripping, etc etc. looks like there will be a lot of stuff to try out
