Where to next?

I started off with a kit from My7s.com and before long the cartridges were shot and from what i could find out no way to fix unless they were replaced and boy were they expensive!

Through the help of this forum i found that my batteries were ego threaded on the outside but no one could confirm the threading on the inside. So i bought two Kanger MT3's and holy hell let me tell you how much of a difference these made! so much more vapor and way better flavors!

My question is whats the logical next step? i like my setup but being the nerd i am i know i will want to upgrade soon and its better to research before making a purchase. I dont know if i should start looking at twists/spinners with tanks or if i should start looking into things like the VAMO V2 or the Tesla (i love the looks of that thing). So give me your suggestions/experiences!

I started off with a Ego - T.. Leaked wayyy too much and had to "upgrade" sort of, to a Ego - Twist in a few days haha..
It lasted me a good while but as you know, the upgrade had to come to Zmax, good mod, lasted a good 2 months until I got drunk and broke it.. ]: And at this point all I used were tank systems with Boge cartos. Then into the provari with the vivi nova tanks, got into rebuilding a little bit. Found out about the Z-atty..which looks amazing with the provari!! And now just like everyone else I'm into mechanicals and rebuildables.
I actually didn't even use the forums til just a little bit ago.. and kind of got whatever I thought looked cool and had sort of at least nice reviews haha.. IMO, everything i've used so far was really good except the Ego -T. Never get an Ego - T.

Thank god that i have not experienced any leaking yet. That would be a mess since i keep this thing in my front pocket all of the time.... Wish i could find a better way to carry it. I'm thinking of maybe using a hard sunglasses/glasses case though i have a feeling that my be too large.

So just so I'm clear is a ProVari the same as say the Tesla and Vamo i mentioned in my original post?

Yup, Provari, Zmax, Tesla, Vamo. Those are but a few of what's called VV devices. Which stands for variable voltage. You can adjust the voltage so you could try out cartos or attys with lower ohms or higher ohms and see which you prefer. Also for every juice there is that magic number, or so people call it where it tastes the best on a specific voltage for resistance.

Whenever I'm out, I always carry my provari with a tank/carto system so I don't really have to worry about carrying around extra juice, or leaking of any sort

The Vamo does variable voltage (VV) and variable wattage (VW). The Provari just does variable voltage.
Know nothing about the Tesla.
The main reason I bought the ProVari is a rock solid reputation and dependability.
Let the war begin.

If you want to move on to VV/VW, then I would suggest skipping the twist or spinner. Go right to the Vamo or Tesla if that is the one you like. I have no knowledge of the Tesla other then seeing pictures of it, so I'm not sure if it does VW. The Vamo does both and is a pretty cheap mod.

There is the Provari which many seem to like, but I'm not a fan of. Really depends on how much you want to spend to find what works for you.

A lot of folks think Provari is like the be all end all. I get away without one. It's a variable voltage variable wattage device, checks ohms, feeds your dog, cuts your hair, mows the lawn for you. It's also wicked costly. They're awesome units but, you can find cheaper stuff especially if you're a beginner. I've heard a lot of bad things about Tesla's. Vamos I hear good things about. I have an MVP. Box mod. It's VV. Pretty nice, small, fits in my hand good and will connect to just about everything that has 510 connection or ego cone. It also apparently lasts forever battery wise.

My opinion? Stick with bottom coil clearos. T3, MT3 are amazing in my opinion. I've always got two of them filled with whatever I'm into at the time. The MVP for ~~$70 dollars comes with two iClear dual coil clearomizers as well and they're actually really good (in my opinion). But something that can deliver more power where it's needed makes your vaping experience totally new and awesome. Like the first time you try a really good juice.

If you're on the go, shoot for twists first. If you're just hanging back, try a VV box mod like the MVP, or do what your gut tells you and rock a vamo. Really it's all a matter of opinion anyway. Having a great experience is the most important part.


Ohh and PS if you're a geek and you like me are attached at the hip to your smartphone, (Android, or iphone 4s or older) then you can use the MVP bottom output plug to charge your phone.

There are a number of ways to carry. I use a mod case for my eGos and mech. I'm willing to bet you could even find a flashlight case that goes on your belt to carry something like the Vamo, Tesla, or Provari.

Wow didn't expect this kind of response! And ronjamesmajor its funny that you mention the MVP i was just reading a thread about that and the charging of my phone intrigued me, I'm a server admin and my phone has to be on me at all times and just last night sitting at the inlaws house my phone was at 13 percent and no way to charge! i may have to go that route here soon for the dual functionality from what i read it can be picked up for 55 bucks!

I went with the vamo for my first upgrade. Where i work size is not a issue. It is big and bulky but i have large hands and it suits me well. I do not use any holder/case for it, it slides nicely into the tool pocket on the side of my jeans. I agree with ronjamesmajor with the iclear 16s they work well but are small and you will have to refill it often if you vape heavly. Look into a Protank it looks good on my vamo holds more liquid but it is a colder vape. Hope my opinion helps you.

Yeah it really is good... and I was mostly being facetious about the provari. It is just VV. But there's a lot of short circuit protection built in and it does have some other interesting proprietary stuff built in. I just hate that it's as expensive for what the device really is.

Another maybe cheaper option if you did get the twist is to check out somewhere like Fasttech for a battery case or personal charging case whatever, for your phone. People can build box mods out of them, but if you're using it for the intended purpose of actually charging, you can for sure keep something more discrete like a twist in your pocket.

I would suggest checking the classified section because someone there was selling a brand new one. But you don't have enough posts and are not verified, so you can't get in.

Hi ITGeeK, welcome to the forum.

I would plan an upgrade path. Twist/spinner batteries are great and a good next step for you. A bigger mod can come later, once you have had time to really think about it, and you know what you want.

In my opinion, it's good to have a number of alternatives. So, even when you have your vamo, provari or box mod you're still going to find a use for those other batteries. I have a bunch and I use all of them.

Now, if you have a tight budget and you're certain that you will not need or want any other kind of battery, go right ahead and skip to the mod.

If you have a very tight budget get the twist(s) and start reading around while you save up.

If money is no object, get them all!

Wow that is a heck of a price i might just have to jump on that!

And yes i was looking at the provari but for the life of me could not figure out why it was so expensive compared to the Vamo. i believe the provari is way out of my price range for now as the second goal of vapeing was to help reduce the cost of this habit.
