I see the point with the 2 amp charging. I just ordered the nitecore D4 for about 31$ free shipping so I should be happy. I dont use 26650s at all right now and if I do the LUC seems to have that faster charging that could really help with not taking a year to charge. Ill probably have to get two chargers eventually anyways for redundancy but for the moment should be OK.

Luc 4 all the way. That 2A charging will charge a VTC4 from 3.7v to 4.2 in under an hour, easily.

Wait, why is 2A charging only recommended for 26650's?

Because slower is better relative to the size of the battery.

You really should not be charging your 18650s at 2 Amps. On a LUC 4, 1 Amp would be the best fast charge rate.

I usually do charge at 1amp (just because I need the 4 slots), I have only charged my 18650's once or twice at 2amps because I was in a rush.

It really depends on the battery specs. A lot of 18650s spec 1a or 875ma charge rates, I use vtc5s and I know they are specd for up to 4a. Your vtc4s ate probably the same. Still in general the higher the charge current the harder it is on the batteries.

Bottom line is, as long as it's within spec hitting them with 2a once in a while won't hurt them, but doing it a lot could reduce their charge cycles.
