Either way works. I actually prefer to fill from the battery end because I can watch the liquid slowly saturate the filler and I can stop or slow down the process when it looks like I'm going too fast. But that requires taking the end cap off... The critical factor is the removal of excess liquid from the center hole afterwards. Just a gentle blow-through from the mouth end takes care of that. Then I just wipe the threads with a tissue and I'm good to go. Topping off is really easier from the mouth end. Just pop the cap off and drip into the filler.

Having said that, the best method is to fill, at least initially, with a syringe, but I understand that not everybody wants to deal with that.

I've been refilling from the lip end since yesterday and it seems like the juice is lasting longer too. I have auto kr808 batteries and the first 2 that I used went from 24 hours of operation to 3-4 hours. So I bought 2 more and I'll see how long these last with refills from the lip end. I did notice that one of the new batteries didn't work immediately after a battery end refill but did work without a freshly refilled cartos. Then it dawned on me that maybe I unwittingly cut the first 2 batteries life by refilling from battery end.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

PS. If I upgrade to manual batteries will I need a new charger?

Yes the ideal way to fill a carto is by tilting the carto and filling it through the mouth end (removing the caps first). That's the original and oldest way to do it. I know there are other methods, but this is the most effective IMO.

I do have a few questions for you

Where can one go to see contained wild animals?
what is the horse with black and white stripes called?
What is used in cartoon stirps to indicate one is sleeping?

I kid, I kid :D

oo oo, it's on the tip of my finger! lol!

Word of caution, don't leave a 2 year old alone with a laptop, he might rip all the keys off. Mine did that while I was cleaning up the 2 tubes of toothpaste he smeared all over the carpet. Good thing I had typing class in high school, I learned all the letters without looking!
