Hey guys! Which, in your opinion, is the better battery? I ordered 2 Hello 016 batteries about a month ago and forgot that I also ordered 2 Egos at the same time. The egos just came today (China shipped, got from My ecig Supply. Is there any difference in performance of the two other than the Hello having a bit higher capacity? My first 900mAh ego died when I dropped it. The battery became dislodged from the contacts internally. Thats my hypothesis at least. I dont know if thats a common trend with those or not, but I just dropped my Hello and its still rockin'. The Hello appears solid, but my past experience with the Ego wasnt amazing. It could have been a fluke or a knockoff. I got it from TastyVapor when they had super cheap ones so it might have been a knockoff? What are your thought? The reason I ask is Im gonna give one to a friend and wanted to know which one I should part with (greedy ol me LOL).

Hi Makasin,

I'm sorry no one responded to this.

There have been some reports of the Hello 16 batteries being of low quality and dying very prematurely. Although this has not happened to me.

Generally speaking, and it's just of course my bias, I tend to stay with genuine Joytech stuff for eGo/510 vaping, and genuine Riva parts for my 901 vaping. Anecdotally, it seems that I've had far fewer problems with the mainline equipment and batteries than some of the "clone" or "off" brands.

Your experience may be different. I own one 900mAh eGo battery and maybe 6 680mAh. Some of them have been with me 6 months.

Maybe you didn't get much of a response because not many people own both the Hello016's and eGo 900's. I have 2 Hello016's and 2 Joye eGo 900mah's. I owned the Hello016's and started reading about problems people were having with them. That put the "Oh No" scare into me so I purchased 2 eGo 900's. Seemed like a logical thing to do because they are all 510's.

You ask which is the better battery. My gut tells me the eGo 900's. I have nothing to back up that statement. My gut tells me it is going to survive the most charges & drop tests. That is probably my confidence in Joye products coming through. As I said, I have no proof, or experience, or evidence to back up this statement.

The Hello016's that I own are very good batteries. I have drop tested them numerous times. We have tile floors without a rug or carpet in our possession. So when I drop test something it is taking hits on tile floors vs hits on carpets. My drop tests have a higher kill ratio than might be expected - LOL.

Charging times are about the same for both. Yes, I do get a little longer battery time out of Hello016...nothing big, not a big deal. All of my batts are manual and I have ZERO problems with switches / button.

I've read about some problems with the Hello016's, but I must have gotten lucky. Mine are holding up well and have not given me any problems...yet. They are probably laying on my desk conspiring their attack on me as I write this ;-) but so far, so good.

When my Hello016's die, I think I am going to replace them with a couple more eGo 900mah's. I like the size, the reputation, etc of the eGo.

Hope this helps a little. Remember this is one fools opinion.

My 2 cents: If you're vaping with low resistance atomizers or cartomizers, skip the Hello and go for that 900mAh Joye eGo. Hello's are sketchy at best with low resistance and the cone on the eGo really tightens up the draw of a cartomizer quite nicely...warms the vapor a bit as well. While I've never owned a 900mAh eGo, I have owned a Hello and I have an eGo passthrough (love this thing, can cap it and take it with you as well), though it's just 650mAh...I found myself using the lower mAh eGo much more for the bonus that the cone provides to my vaping experience. I never used LR anything on my Hello because I was so afraid to fry it. I kinda love LR cartos on an eGo and only use standards at 5v. :)
