Sorry to be a needy and confused newbie. Just wondering if anyone who owns both would ever consider making a comparison video between the gg and prodigy. Although I'm abought to purchase a prodigy, I would love to see a vaping expert's comparison. Any takers? Spikey? Mamu? Not to pressure anyone ... Jk ... Not really

Hi,

Im not sure what to buy, there is so much choice. Looking to cut down and get of the cigs .

Im looking for something that looks similar or is about the same size as a normal cig which is reliable and gives the same sort of kick you get from a norm cigarette. What are my choices and where is the best place to buy from in the UK?

Thanks

shings - if you want a ciggie looking type e-cig this is definitely the wrong thread for you since the GG and the Prodigy look absolutely nothing like a real ciggie.

If you haven't done so already, your next step is to view these helpful videos. This will help in your decision.

Young, check out the video on the opening post of this thread. Video made by Truelove with the help of his son, demonstrating the Prodigy, AdapteveR & GG (demonstratated in that order)

The Shings it may be better if you start a thread in the New members forum asking for help choosing an e-cig that looks like a real cig :)

Vaping expert? Who dat? :D

No one has done a comparison video yet. Franklyspeaking and Truckdrivingmouse are planning one but there is no date set yet.

They are both very good vaping machines. Spikey has done a Prodigy video and it's in the Puresmoker forum. Ikenmoke and Truelove have done GG videos and they're in the GG forum.

Either one will give you what you're looking for.

You're just going to have to decide which one you want.

I have two Screwdrivers, one AdapteR, a number of 901's, 510's and the 4081. The AdapteR and Screwdriver is great and I believe the AdapteR may be coming out with a 6v. not sure.

I ordered the GG and decided because of shipping costs if anything goes wrong the cost of shipping was more than I wanted to pay. So, I asked for a refund. Imeo was VERY gracious and never asked a question, just refunded my money. To me that's GREAT customer service. My husband is retiring soon and money will be tight, so I have to consider this. Other's may not need too and again, the GG company has great customer service in my opinion, but that's all it is, an opinion. It looks like a BEAUTIFUL device.

The Prodigy. Just received mine this afternoon and have another on it's way :D. I tried vaping off it one time and then vaping off the Screwdriver the next time. Within about an hour, I unscrewed the Screwdriver, took out the battery and atty and packed it away. It's a GREAT device and I really enjoyed using it, but wow, the Prodigy, now that's vaping! Love it!

What's the price difference and shipping costs of the GG vs. Prodigy. I'm also considering in getting one but haven't decided which one.

I think it would depend on what country you are in. Truthfully I'm not sure, there was a long discussion on the GG forum about a recall and the cost of shipping, etc. involved. I just decided it would be better for me to order the Prodigy and I'm so happy with the Prodigy. I think when it comes to shipping cost and the difference you'll do best if you write and discuss this with Imeo.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I'M RIGHT HERE
since both products are comparable, which some claim. then you would go by other criteria. i just got done ordering a mod . since i could not make a choice if either was better than the other. i then compared price, whoops about the same. then i looked at place of origin. prodigy is made in tennessee, GG made in greece. there was my order. Suzi, I think you may have meant: "It costs $4 plus some odd cents to send the GG *from* Greece." ;)

Why would you want to send it *to* Greece ("coal to Newcastle")? ... Unless you are returning it because you are a dissatisfied customer (which, based on the banner in your signatue) you do not appear to be.

Was your point that it doesn't matter where it is shipped from? From a cost point of view, you're probably right. Time to arrival I expect would be longer.

Based on everything I've read, both are *outstanding* PV's (somehow that seems the apter term for these devices than "e-cig"). It's the secondary, subjective factors that push any of us one way or the other.

I'm more attracted to the look of the Prodigy and the fact that the principal speaks (at all, let alone American English) in his videos.

I believe/hope *my* Prodigy is due to arrive this afternoon!

GG owners were given a window of opportunity to send their devices back to the manufacturer to have the button replaced as part of a safety recall.

Hi Don... It wasn't a mistake. I sent my GG back to Greece to get an update regarding a firing issue and to have the locking button feature installed, which wasn't available when I purchased mine.

I'm not a dissatisfied customer at all. Quite the contrary. I'm VERY happy with my GG. I don't own a Prodigy - yet Ya never know, though. It's nice we have choices when it comes to these outstanding devices.

ETA: Yes... it was to point out that the shipping charges aren't as expensive as some seem to think. I believe the postal clerk told me it would probably get there in 5 to 7 days but it could take up to 10.

People need to understand that the Screwdriver, AdapteveR, GG, Bulli and Prodigy are all
glorified battery packs and if i'm not mistaken all except the screwdriver make available
different adapters to fit your atomizer needs. At this day in age we are all leaning towards
the li-ion battery cell. These batteries for our use are only available @ 3.0, 3.6 and
3.7 volts. These batteries are also available in different length and widths and come in a
variety of mAh (discharge rate) The GG and the Bulli extreme are ment to
to accept either 2 cr123a batteries @ 6 volts or one 18650 @ 3.7 volts
although the at this time the Adaptever and Screwdriver only do 3.7v. The GG and the Bulli have
and option to use either battery size so the user may opt for either 3.7v or 6.0v.
Then we come to the prodigy. The pridigy is built to also accept the 2 cr123a or 18650
battery in it's case BUT it's unique switch design includes a resistor witch limits the amount
of voltage to the atomizer housing. This limits the prodigy to use only the 2 cr123a batteries.
Someone with limited soldering skills may remove this resistor and bridge the switch to accept
both battery types. (Check warranty info B4 doing so)
Most all make them about the same width and length in size with the exception of bulli.
(available in many different length, width and battery configurations) :thumb:

If I missed something, please correct me if I'm wrong here.

I own just about all of the models talked about here. I haven't had the opportunity to try a bulli yet, but it sounds interesting. However, for the purpose of this threads discussion, I'll keep my comments centered around the GG and the Prodigy.
Out of all the models listed, these are the only two (like I said, I don't know anything about the bulli) that use higher than normal voltage. Based on that fact alone, I have to disagree with Scintar's statement that these are all glorified battery packs.
Vaping at 5 or 6 volts is very, very different than vaping at 3.7 volts because... (1) There is no lag time in atomizer heat up. (2) The chances of flooding are greatly reduced. (3) The length of inhale time needed for a decent hit is greatly reduced. (4) The potential to burn out atomizers is greatly increased. (5) The amount of vapor produced at 5 or 6 volts is like a runaway freight train on crack!!!
As far as which device is the best... Well.....that is like debating which apple is the best. As many different kinds of apples there are, that's how many different opinions there are about which of these 2 units is the best. I personally like them both. They both do what the manufactures claim. They both enjoy fantastic customer support. And they both (IMHO) make the whole vaping experience much more enjoyable.
As you can see, from previous posts, they both enjoy a loyal fan following.
My bottom line???
Pick either one. You won't be dissapointed with your choice.:p
