Which One to Buy

I have tried the rechargable electronic cigarettes and stopped using them. They are too heavy and just don't feel like a regular cigarette. I found that they just didn't give me the satisfaction for my smoking habit. I then tried Southern Steel disposable cigarettes and found that these are closer to the real feel. I've decided to just start buying my e cigarettes online so am wondering if anybody can tell me which feels closest to real. I have searched for specs to no avail. Also, have any rechargables improved on weight? I'm tired of throwing money down the drain.

If you are trying to find a vape that looks, tastes and feels like a real cig, you're gonna be in for some disappointment. vaping and smoking are pretty different in those aspects. No one has made a juice that tastes exactly like a cig, and the cig-a-likes out there are almost always second rate products compared to the ego/tank/rda systems. These are just some things you're going to have to get used to if you really want to switch from smoking to vaping. Many of the more reputable dealers online don't even sell cig-a-likes, they just don't work that well.

Something to add. If you are simply looking to satisfy your hand-to-mouth addiction, I can't help too much. Most of the devices that are of similar size and shape to a real cig don't offer much in the way of satisfying the nic addiction side of the house. Like Papajohns said, you may have to eventually accept that nothing in the vaping world will emulate smoking a real cig very well.

Not trying to push anything on you or answer questions that weren't asked but most everyone starts out wanting exactly what you're asking for, then quickly realizes those two things don't exist in the same space. Hope this helps.

I'd say there are always going to be adjustments. If you REALLY want to quit smoking, vaping is a good alternative. You'll never copy the experience of an analog cigarette, and to be honest, you don't want to if you really want to quit.

Using vaping to quit analogs is a great option...probably the BEST option currently available. You still get the mouth feel, You still get the hand-to-mouth experience, or the feel of doing something with your hands. You still get the nicotine, the throat hit, the sensation of inhaling the smoke.

You sacrifice the weight and exact flavor of a cigarette, but along with that you sacrifice the carcinogens, and tar, and ash, and the rest of the things that will kill you.

It's an adjustment, sure. It's a smaller adjustment than any other alternative, by a long shot. When you're ready to quit, the adjustment is worth it.

It's been my experience that people that try to replicate the flavor of analogs often fail to quit smoking. Try something diametrically opposed. Try strawberry. Try Pineapple. Try candy cane. Once you get over the initial (relatively minor) changes, you'll be successful.

When I first tried vaping vs cigs, I also wanted mine to look and feel like a cig.
About a week later and I was over that. The ones that looked like a real cig, Njoy looks just like one, they just barely did the trick.
The only thing I am now concerned with is getting a small dose of nic five or six times an hour.
I also still like the tobacco flavors, but I have learned there's a big difference between tobacco flavor and burned tobacco flavor.
YMMV

Welcome to ECF and good luck.

An Joye eRoll puts out damn good vapor and flavor (for it's size - best analog like unit available) and is the perfect partner to a stay at home mod. I leave my mods at home and use them during the evening when i'm relaxing with a beer and bring the eRoll when i'm out.

If you must have a cig-a-like this is the one.

All good suggestions and advice given above. :thumb:

@ friedafred:

How bad do you want to quit smoking? At some point you'll need to figure out that smoking is going to eventually kill you. Vaping is an alternative to smoking which by all accounts is less harmful than smoking is and is currently the best option to stop smoking.

Vaping will give you the nicotine that you are dependent upon, will mimic the hand-to-mouth habit and sensation in the throat & lungs which the alternative stop-smoking options will not give you.

However, vaping is different than smoking. You'll notice I haven't referred to the term "e-cigarette" to you, because this is the misnomer that you appear to be confused about. You won't get a satisfactory experience with the cigarette-sized batteries. They just don't have the power/duration which the larger size batteries can provide.

If you desire to quit smoking via vaping you will need to make some concessions. Larger batteries which don't look or feel like a cigarette. The batteries which are cigar-shaped/sized are a much better alternative. These are called the Ego batteries, and they will have the power and the juice attachment options to better mimic the cigarette-like experience.

You'll soon get over the "size" issue once you give them a try. You'll even prefer them to cigarettes once you finally put that last pack of stinkies away for good, your taste buds heal, and you realize how bad cigarettes really taste. Thousands have quit smoking using vaporizers (e-cigarettes), and you can do it, too!

Welcome to ECF and good luck on your journey to stop smoking. This is an excellent forum to learn from others mistakes and learn from the positive experiences of those more advanced in vaping.

I'll probably be flamed for this, but BluCig makes a pretty small ecig. I was similar when I started vaping.. I thought MODS and even EGO's looked ridiculous when I started vaping. I couldn't imagine replacing my cigs with such a huge device. I tried several different cheap ecigs and most tasted awful, and did not satisfy the feeling of a cigarette in the hand. I finally ordered a BluCig starter kit and that worked to kick my habit. 2years later and I make my own juice, which I vape with an RBA on an iTaste 134. (One of the largest mods available... but it sure looks cool!)

Depends by person really, you'll never be able to directly mimic a stinky. But, you can sure get darn close. Im happily vaping with my SVD and KTS and honestly to me it was never about the hand-to-mouth addiction. It was always more of feeling the smoke go into my lungs, so i'm easily woo'd by just vaping with some nicotine. it's easier said than done to find your perfect setup but it will get easier as you go along

lol on being worried about being flamed for mentioning blu ;)

I started with disposables like njoy, moved to blu, then moved to ego, moved to vamo, and so on. But there is nothing wrong with blu's they got my foot in the door. I thought it too had to look and feel like a cig at first but to be honest getting used to an ego size really wasn't that difficult or a transition for me.

I still use my blu's from time to time. The biggest thing I found as a reason to go "bigger" was that I got really annoyed with having to take the blu apart and rescrew in the battery every 30-50 puffs to keep it charged. It just got to be too tedious and a standard size ego battery will last me 8-12 hours with no fiddling around at all.

I went through the same problem when I first started vaping. You definitely need to give it some time to get adjusted. Went from cig-look-alikes, to an ego/clearo setup, and finally to a mechanical and RDA. If more advanced vaping isn't your thing then the ego/clearo setup works just fine. I used it for over a year, but it definitely took me some time to get use to using it as my main nicotine delivery system.

I haven't tried every juice there is, but the one that stands out in my mind is Halo Torque56. When I first tried it my initial impression was, "This is like standing in the break area smoking a cigarette!". Others may vary in their experience, but that was my first impression.

Vaping is a little different from actually smoking because one is burning leaves and the other is a cool steam vapor that lingers like the real thing. Taste is different because your aren't inhaling ash particles coated with tar and nicotine, you are inhaling a vapor that contains nicotine and flavorings.

When you finally start to compare smoking and vaping side by side by taking a hit from one then the other, you realize that vaping tastes good and the cigarette tastes terrible. That's when you can feel good about doing away with the cigs and turning to vaping for your nicotine urges. Of course, you have to find the right juice to be able to come to that conclusion.
