Sounds like you want a Polished VV Grand! Like a mirror finish. You can get a tumbled and polish it. Just takes some Mother's Mag polish, soft cloths, and lots of polishing!

I have a Polished Grand, Mini, and Nickle. Love them!

is any dissassembly required prior to polishing?

i'm still sulking about missing the mini in the classies and i see a "tumbled raw aluminum" grand at reosmods. i fondle my existing REOs enough, that polishing one doesn't seem that big a stretch :)

No taking it apart is needed. Just work around the button and connector. Della Cirque did a couple. The last one was a tumbled mini she got from me. Perfect mirror finish! The tumbled raw is what you need. Don't get one with a clear coat to polish!

I didn't realize how much I loved the black wrinkle until I backed it up with a white powder coated 2.1
The white is beautiful but man does it make my hand sweaty ...... All my future metal REOs will have some texture now.

Agree 100%... my first Grand is an anodized black/silver... it gets a little slimy/slippery if I hold on to it for too long. My hammertone silver/black wrinkle Grand has yet to exhibit that issue. Just a little texture goes a long way.

Nice! Is Silver Anodized the same as what some refer to as "clear-coat tumbled"?

Nope. :)

Clear Coat Tumbled

Silver Anodized

To be fair...the Silver anodized still can fainlty show the tumbling...but the clear coat is crystal....and it almost deepens the visual effect of the tumbled surface.

RF, how can you tell the difference between clear coated tumbled and non coated tumbled? Or are all tumbled REOs clear coated?
Oh absolutely....let me grab another photo or two. This is an old tumbled mini.

Perhaps, photos won't do the difference justice...The tumbled's surface changes all the time with use....it polishes with use and scratches easily...but the clear coat has an even, consistent look to it, while remaining shiney. It looks more "finished."

Here is a photo of both, though...not sure it's going to support my claim. Tumbled mini on the left, clear coat tumbled VVG on the right.

Now that I have seen these photos, I know for sure that I have a silver anodized VVG (just like Rob told when I bought it).

I apologize if I confused anyone with calling it clear anodized.

Just like Lisa said, grain is faintly visible on the mod. It looks absolutely beast.

Everyone should own atleast 1. Good present to yourself for quitting smoking :)

No...it's much more durable. But even if it scratches...it's a lot harder to see. I haven't scratched mine yet and I've had it for a few months....but I could be wrong and just haven't found it yet. It doesn't appear to be scratched.

I love my silver anodized but am wondering if I will want a Clear coat in the future but the colors look really similar to me.
