Hey everybody, thanks for letting me join your little group.

Stereotype: I guess i am more on the butch side. Short hair, jeep wrangler and love the jeans and t-shirts. Haven't worn a dress since early 90's when I was forced(yes forced) into being in my sisters wedding. What a traumatic day that was for me. I cant even tell you, I should be in therapy over that one.

One of these days, the straight folks will realize how much more reasonable we look, feel, and act when given a little leaway to make the outfit our own. A nice pants suit the same color and material as the rest of the bridal party would have allowed you to be yourself while still fitting in and looking elegant. I have tried to look "femenine", and I just look even more butch. I look and feel "normal" when I am permitted to butch up a femme outfit or femme up a butch outfit. My personality is really in the middle and I look and feel awkward trying to wear something that isn't somewhere in the middle.

I have lots of tools and can fix just about anything. I love video games, have a 360, ps3, gamecube, psp, and DS. I can sit and read for hours. I am currently ready the twilight series... however haven't picked up the 3rd book since I became obsessed with vaping.

Have you tried making your own mod? It is loads of fun to vape your own creation - kinda like pimpin' out your own ride. My wife LOVED the Twighlight series - I won't spoil the 3rd book for you. You may find you need something to read in places where you don't have internet access.

I have spent hours reading on this site and others learning everything there is to know about the subject. I started with a DSE 901, and moved on to a SD. Love my SD but now I am interested in the prodigy and gg.

I am engrossed in the conversation at ECF. I can't tear myself away to sleep more than 5 hours a night.

Still in search for the ever elusive perfect juice. have tried several, but haven't found true love yet.

There's DIY for this, too.

Oh well, thats a little bit of me in a tiny box. Glad I found your forum.

Thanks again for letting me join up.

Jenn

Thanks Jenn, for sharing a little of yourself. Welcome to the Rainbow Room.

well and x once said i was a medium femme with butch tendencies.... so i guess the best answer is depending on my mood, and who i am with.

i am attracted to the butch esthetic's and swagger as equally as i am to the femme's sweet mystique. i predominantly wear men's clothes, but in brighter colours. i do femme up, when i am out on a date with my boifriend. get the mani pedi, brush the hair, wear a proper bra, not a sports bra .. etc etc etc ...

so, i dont' really fall under one category. i just call myself gay. i used to say queer, but gay just sounds more grown up.

Hi folks! Thanks for letting me join in! Great to find a place even on ECF. I've been lurking for 2 months and vaping for 2 days and just joined the group yesterday. I guess this is good a place as any to jump in. :D

Stereotypical - Empathy: way too much for my own good. I love techno / remixes/ mashups / trance: Give me some good strong beats and I'm in heaven. I have cats (and yes, one of them is named Precious. On balance, the other one is named Ghetto). I am left-handed (the only left handed male in my family) I'm one of those annoyingly happy people who is always smiling and laughing and gets along with almost everybody. I'm a sucker for a nicely built man: When Vin Diesel comes on screen I slide out of my chair. I work for a gay owned business and live in a town with a larger than normal gay population. I have a few piercings - some of them even on my ears.

Antistereotypical - I could give a (self-censored) about fashion: I wear whatever's comfortable. I hate shoes and will avoid them whenever possible. I don't own any "dress clothes" at all. Shaving is something you do before going to a funeral... or a wedding, maybe, if you like them. I detest the color pink. To balance off the cats, I have two dogs - not small cute ones either, but HUGE evil viscious dogs who try to kill anyone who comes within twenty feet of our home. I love all things dark and morbid. Give me a movie with buckets of blood, flesheating zombies and killer mutant puppies/babies/parakeets thrown in for good measure, and I'm not moving. And finally... I'm from Mississippi. :p

OK-well..............I have 4 dogs, no cats. Used to have trucks/Jeeps but now own my first car. (I miss my Jeep but it ejected me) I work hard, I play hard (but not as hard as I used to) and I don't own anything pink or "girly". I wouldn't consider myself butch and def not femme, but I do have certain qualities that would fall under both. I, too, love to tinker, but then again I think all of us here should be pretty good with our hands by now. ;) Not alot of things catch my interest but when they do they get my full attention. My only hobbies are modding e-cigs and researchng useless info on the net. (All my friends think Im way smarter than I am bc I love learning new and interesting tidbits) Truth is, I know a little about alot, not alot about alot! Everyday I set a new goal in life....
Im an optimist by nature, a gemini and I love to smile and laugh.....

Anyone for a joke? "Why cant a lesbian go on a diet and wear make-up at the same time?" (You cant eat Jenny Craig with Mary K on your face!) :p

Thanks for adding me, BTW!

Well, I AM the crazy lesbian with a house full of rescued animals and a baby. There's a stereotype in there somewhere. ;)

The one I really hate the most is when people assume that, just because I'm a lesbian, that I'm also a "man hater". It's a ridiculous assumtion, IMO.

I find that assumption pretty ridiculous too:mad:! Gay men don't hate women, they revere them. What makes folks think I hate men:?:? In all honesty, I LOVE men - from the belly button up:D. I find them quite comforting and fun to be around and easy to get along with. I just don't WANT them and don't trust the ones that think I should WANT them:rolleyes:. I play flirt with a lot of my male coworkers and customers - but let them know that it is just play, not real. There was a generation of man-hating lesbians:(, but that was 30 years ago - and I don't understand them all that much either:confused:.

Im a aging tattooed hardcore kid who listens to punk and metal and skateboards.

I can also girl it up with the best of em, and toss back the beers.

Always marched to my own drummer.

As it should be, bornagainst. :) And define "aging". You look pretty young to me.

I don't really fall into any of the stereotypical gay categories. The only exception would be fashion. Even then, though, I'm not the type of guy who watches all the latest runway designs just so I can run out and buy those god-awful new pants that fall about half-way down the ...-crack. In my line of work, you have to look good, so I am pretty well versed in what to wear, and more importantly what not to wear, when it comes to suits.

Otherwise, I love tools and working on my car. I love beer and hate fruity cocktails. I hate the bar scene, though I do like techno music. I drive a sporty car. I don't have a lisp. I don't use skin care products.

I guess I do rather hate sports though. Well, not so much that I hate sports. I love to play sports and I love to watch sports when I'm at a game. I just don't see a point in sitting on a couch watching other people play. And I get incredibly annoyed by people who refer to their preferred team as "we" as if they are in any way affiliated with the team.

Very interesting topic here!

Stereotypical: Not to many But I am more of a cat person then a dog person. Though my roommate has three dogs so can not have a cat. LOL the dogs do like cats but I think the dogs would drive a cat insane. Only other stereotypical thing is I like to cross stitch, I find it relaxing though I have not done it in awhile. Oh and I love Glee. LOL
Antistereotypical: Well there are a lot. Not into fashion, always thought it was a waste of time. I like country music, I have not listened to regular radio in years, Heck never heard a Lady Gaga song until the Glee episode. With country music I also love going to Rodeos, well to drool over the cowboys but also I love to watch them compete. I have a degree in Game Design and Development which is almost totally a straight male field. Also an avid gamer, love video games. I am a bit messy, but don't let it get to bad. Though when I do clean the house it is pretty much spotless. I quit drinking, but do have a beer every so often. I love to go camping and hiking, not camp sites but actual middle of nowhere pitch a tent camping. Can hear women talk about woman parts and womens monthly issues and not freak out, I actual think it is funny the way some gay men react to that. LOL I can go on and on.
traits: Hummm I was an only child( so not the youngest), I am right handed. Whirl is clockwise. I was raised by my Dad, so not a momma's boy. So I guess that makes me a straight man that thinks he is gay? LOL Hummmm nope like the bedroom play with another man way too much!!!!!

Greetings fellow queerbies!

I'm new to ECF, and the whole e-cig caper. I haven't actually joined this group, but I'm just seeing if it'll let me post. If it works, and there's a friendly mod out there who'd like to make it official can I please join?

Stereotypical Things:
* I ride a motorbike
* I NEVER wear dresses (it's been long enough that I can wear one as a Halloween costume and it scares people to death)
* I'm a gadget nut
* My cats are my children
* I despise shopping for anything other than electrical equipment or hardware
* I'm cranky and opinionated
* The only shoes I own are Doc Martens boots
* I don't have a maternal bone in my body, and I'm allergic to other people's kids
* I like Indigo Girls an Ani Di Franco (among many other things)

A-stereotypical Things:
* I really don't like the "scene", and I'd rather stay in than go out
* I'm not a huge sports fan
* Hardcore feminists piss me off
* I love hardware stores and engines etc, but I'm not actually GOOD at mechanical things! I have a habit of making things more broken than they were to begin with, or totally failing to finish whatever project I started.
* I squeal like a girl around spiders

My ring fingers are shorter than my index fingers. I'm the eldest child. I have no idea which way my hair whorls, as I can't see the back of my head from here! So they're all a fail. All I can say is, at least I'm left-handed!

I'm not the butchest of the butch, but I'm certainly not a femme. My GF and I have come to an understanding: I get to wear the pants, but she's well and truly running the show!

Sterotypes.... don't ya love 'em! Let's see....
- Haven't worn dresses in decades and felt like I was in drag then... jeans or khakis are my everyday wear
- I wear steel-toed workboots most of the time (required for work, but comfy/handy for other times)
- Actually I only own 3 pairs of shoes (workboots, tennis shoes, and black dress shoes) and have no clue how anyone can stay balanced on heels
- Love to watch them balance on those high heels though... big grin...
- I have typically male mannerisms or so I've been told (nothing dainty about the way I move, walk, sit, whatever... )
- Short haircut... in fact my hair has always been shorter then my son's
- I'm into cars and work at an auto mfg plant (albeit I work as a sys admin there)
- I'll hold the door open for you... whoever you are....
- I get called "Sir" on a fairly regular basis
- I wear ballcaps, especially on bad hair days
- I can be loud, opinionated, and cuss like a sailor when it's called for
- I can back most people down with a really good glare
- My idea of a good workout is tossing people around at a sweaty dojo... "fitness centers", you've got to be kidding
- I have very few maternal bones in my body... though the kid lived through it and thrived somehow
- I may not notice your new haircut/hair color/etc.. for days or until the subtle hints/skillet finally hits home...

I also get weepy over a good Hallmark commercial... am very empathetic... stop for directions (ok... eventually)... am not into sports though I can discuss them intelligently... prefer hiring someone to fix my car, etc... and I collect angels.

This looks like an old thread but had fun reading it so I thought I'd post

Stereotypes I fit:
*I'm a dike.
*Wear steel tool work boots
*Wear button down shirts and slacks for work jean and t shirts other times
*Carry a pocket knife / leatherman at all times
*Wear big men's watches
*Carry my phone and keys on my belt
*Have tattoos
*Ride a motorcycle - but not a cruiser, a Goldwing GL1800, so broke that stereotype
*Like backpacking (yes that is a ferret on my shoulder. Ferrets are girl magnets and the SO even agrees)
IMG_0293.jpg

*Gadget ..... - laptops, phones, gizmos, home theater, mods and the list keeps going on
*Tool ..... - standard red tool boxes, power tools, cordless power tools, drill press, step mill all in the room in the garage I built for myself
*Skilled at home remodeling, just finished converting part of the garage, framing, electrical, dry walling, Have a full tool belt with suspenders and hip bags to go along with the home remodeling.
img_0084.jpg

*Stuck with all of the nasty jobs, ie plumbing and snaking the pipes YUCK

*Can and have spent hours in the hardware store fondling nuts, not that kind ;), bolts, screws, washers.
*Drive a truck
*When I go shopping straight in and out, on a mission, distractions not allowed

*Spiders :p I carry them outside or just ignore them, well at least the non dangerous one.
*On the other hand children make me run the other way.
*I had a maternal bone but decided I could live without it and had it removed.
*Have 2 cats, 1 dog, 2 ferrets, 1 snake, 12 fish or so

A-stereotypical:

*I'm a femme
*Long curly hair (even if you can't tell from any of the pics)
*Wear makeup.
*Wear dresses and high heels - even done it on my bike. I've shock people with this one. Park the bike take off my boot and drop my riding over pants, people expecting to see jeans but nope wearing a skirt and nylons and swap the boots for heels and look like your typical femme girl.
IMGP0699.jpg

*When I go shopping like looking at all of the pretty things and it takes hours if not days
*Clothing and shoe ......

I run the range from dike to femme depending upon my mood.

My wife and I have known each other for 23 years. Friends since high school, she wasn't into girls, but that didn't stop me from flirting with her for 15 years. She finally got into girls or at least one, ME. Dated for 4 years and married for the last 4.

Hope others have fun with this.

Really enjoyed your post Gadget :D Preach on about the Goldwing! lol Nothing like riding in pure comfort I say. Best. Touring. Bike. Ever.

On that note all the posts in this thread have been amusing and insightful so far. :)

Hi Zapp and Roger,

The shiny two wheeled road goddess was my midlife crisis. Even the SO likes her. The only problem I've notice is that with two woman I don't seem to have enough storage might have to invest in a trailer but hay she's a Goldwing so not a problem

A funny story when I went to buy her. One dealer I went to kept trying to sell me a Silverwing (scooter), this was after I go in saying I'm looking for a Goldwing. Went back to the Goldwings and asked if I could sit on one, the guy near about had a conniption over it. He just couldn't get it that I was serious. I guess I violated the boys club or something because I knew what bike I wanted and the size didn't scare me. Finally ended up buy her from a different shop.

So have/do you ride a Goldwing? Took me twenty years from the first time I sat on one to get one but I finally did it. :)

You know I believe that story at the dealership completely and it gave me quite a laugh this morning, some people are so dense :) My 2nd bike was my uncle's old '87 Goldwing, I loved the thing to death :) It was too big for my tastes, and I didn't tour much in my 20s. I gravitated to much lighter bikes for the time, sports (Kawa 250 is sooooooo much fun talk about feeling in control! :D) style is mostly what I ride atm. But my heart belongs to the Goldwing, the only bike you DRIVE. Because anything with 6 cylinders, radio, heating system and reverse gear to name a few is something you drive not ride :D LOL Not many more years I'll be looking to get another one, only a brand spankin' new one :D

BTW the luggage quip also had me LOLing hard. :) Time to invest in a trailer behind yes? Would that hold it all? LOL STEREOTYPES!!
