lol ... I guess I can see where you are coming from with that. It would be nice if some ppl took the time to make a few educated guesses or use some deductive reasoning to solve common problems, as opposed to creating a thread to rant about them.

I think the plethora of information and experienced members of ECF make it all too easy for some to not think for themselves, but rather prefer to have others do the thinking and problem solving for them. But you can find this sort of thing every where, and in all walks of life.

Honestly........ today's electronic age of smartphones/puters/social networking/etc are making many (especially the young - sorry youngin's, lol) LAZY.

I've seen it at all kinds of forums I'm on.... instead of researching by reading (say, within a 100 page thread let alone a whole forum) some will spout off that they don't have time or interest in doing that. Say WHAT ??!! Something that you have interest in (and in this case, something that is life affecting), that you don't have time ? Oh my.......And if I get one more nephew or niece coming to my house and .....ing me out for not coming to the door since the ping'd me "We're HERE"..... I'm gonna lose it and smack them for being to lazy to lift their arm and push that little button called a doorbell.

For now I just roll my eyes & shake my head as they shiver in the cold, lol.......

I see where you're coming from...When I got interested in vaping, I made ECF my top priority, I favorited the Canada Forum, just so I wouldn't have to scroll all the way back up the page to click on "Today's Posts", I can understand why some people don't have the same level of enthusiasm, but I pity those people. That being said, I am very grateful to the prompt responses of members when I do have questions. Rachelcoffe has been a doll to me. And despite how much research you pour over, theres certain lines of thought that are just wrong. When a newbie fixates on an E9 (raises hand), we can fall into the trap of only looking at articles that enforce what we think is good. Sometimes you just need a more knowledgeable operson to steer you in the right direction....*cough* Rachel *cough*

Is it just me but it seems the last batch has brought a lot of whiners, just sayin...

I dont even know why this would have to be brought up? I think as a community forum we should be as kind and helpful as possible to new members. Starting vaping brings with it alot of questions and anxiety which i suppose may be perceived as "whining" but I think these folks (with the exception of one i can think of) are just looking to be assured that they are doing the right thing. Senior members (which i am not, only been here a couple months) should either take the time to help or just ignore the thread IMHO. I am a mod on another forum and we strive to keep the negativity out of our forum. Calling people whiners is just going to make them feel alienated and not come back, and maybe without this support go back to analogs....I have tried to make this make as much sense as it does in my head lol, anyways feel free to rip me a new one if i am out of line, just had to say it.

I don't think ECF is negative at all, I love it here. It's normal for ppl to get annoyed with each other from time to time...It's cause we're family :D...that being said, negativity can easily snowball if we let it. This should be the only post on it, to let everyone vent a healthy bit....Then we bottle up the rest inside and let it fester quietly....like normal human beings...

I agree to a point, and disagree to a point.

On forums, I personally get fed up with seeing the same question OVER and OVER again. There's a search function for a reason (and I recommend the google one, not the built in search lol.) It personally grinds my gears when someone comes on to a forum and wants to be handed every answer on a platter. Why should I take the time to help someone who doesn't want to take the time to help themselves?

It's really not that hard to find answers to most questions one would come here to ask (how long does CP?, What's a good vendor for..?, Best carto?, etc.)

However I disagree to a point because, well, it IS a forum after all, and the point is to talk and get to know each other and learn from each others experiences.

I'll raise the point that Canadian suppliers are a little tricky to grasp (nicotine juice vendors), and it is important to become aquainted with Canadian vendors once you discover Health Canada. That being said, I was PM'd "the list", by Mindfield, I asked "how do I know which ones are the best". He told me: that's the beauty of it....enjoy the journey!:p (paraphrasing)

I agree with you, ECF is a very nice place to be, didn't mean to imply that ECF was negative :)

In a somewhat related note:

Money shouldn't be an issue to people who want to quit smoking considering it's not exactly a cheap habit, not to mention its corresponding health costs. Having said that, that doesn't mean you have to buy expensive flashlights like what some "veterans" want you to to experience vaping heaven, which is as subjective as trying to determine which e-juice tastes better. In the end, every mistake you make should become part of the learning process.

New users, for example, can't be talked out of buying slim e-cigs no matter what experience users say. So let them.

It all comes down to as soon as you learned that the device you bought is nothing more than a flashlight, you should be able to figure everything on your own. You don't need veterans. All you need is common sense and Google.

As a veteran myself, it's critical for us to be focused on helping the new vapors that come to this forum or any other social medium regardless of the topic or opinion.

As a new vapor, I appreciated all the help/knowledge I could get. Cynicism was rarely seen on this forum 2.5yrs ago....as veteran's, let's keep the "pay-it-forward" attitude...please.

really glad you posted that. I mean really cmon guys, its frustrating when you are new, especially if you are also new to message boards. The info can be overwhelming and the language is like a 2nd language to learn for a newbie. If you dont like the whining and the stress they are going through (withdrawals, anxiousness, on a budget etc) then dont reply and find a thread you do want to read.
