Who knows about messenger services?

OK, I want to install MSN messenger but I don't want to sign up for an email account or anything like that. Is that possible? If so, how?

i have just a random @msn email address ... i never use the email address, and only use it to sign in to msn messenger

You may want to look at Trillian. It will allow you to connect to 3 different messengers at the same time with one application. So if you have MSN, AOL, and yahoo id's you can connect to all three with one messenger.

Trillian is great for combining instant messenger services but you still need to create and account for each service to connect. Cash is right. Just make a dummy address and don't use it. It's really the only way.

Yep, looks like I have to open yet another unused mail account

I know in my early days I did that because I didn't know better...and now have a bunch of junk mail accounts floating around that I don't even remember my sign-ins for. Eh....guess one more won't matter!

Well, good idea Gashin. If I have to go that way, that's probably what I'll do.

But one last question....what about this? Anyone try this? I wouldn't mind using an address I already have. And which might be better, an existing email...or limited account?

Whatever you decide to do with your account, DO use trillian instead of MSN messengers software. You'll never get it off of your machine!
