Time for a new charger, I just measured all the batts I've charged since last night and they're coming off the charger at well over 4.5v, both LiMn and protected Li-ions. Turns out the 17w I thought I was vaping today was actually 23w, lol.

Edit: Scratch that, multimeter batt is just dying.

Yeah no kidding, luckily I already have a new pair of 18350s on the way and I have a new excuse to get some MNKE 18650s. The charger is a cheap tr-001. I'm looking at getting a Thunder AC6 and will turn the trustfire into a charging cradle. I'll check out that Sysmax too, thanks.

Have you tried and measure the Voltage drop of your set up? I am asking because at 23 watts with 30g wire you would burn almost any juice...it wouldn't be pleasant.

False alarm guys, battery was dying in my multimeter, resistance was reading low too, I'm actually at 13-14w on a full 'proper' charge, estimate not including voltage drop, gotta fix my old adapter for measuring under load. I do think something happened to my coil though, it's not vaping as hot as yesterday, but that's what I'm testing right now and all my batts are ok under 4.2v

So yeah, KEEP YOUR DMM BATTS FRESH, it makes a difference, lol. Provari owners disregard. :)

what charger? i use a Sysmax i4 intelicharger it's great, they come off the charger at either 4.2 or 4.19 every time. that 4.5v is NOT safe lol

I love my Xtar WPII, I got it for $20 from S&S Mods. All the features and safety of a Pila charger for a fraction of the price! I'd suggest it!

+1 on the Xtar WPII. Work perfectly - hits 4.2 volts & stops right there no matter how long you leave the battery in it (OK, I forgot I was charging it one night )
You can't beat it for the price....

I've seen the light. Twisted 32g 4 wrap coil at .8 ohms on my natural is bliss. I sanded down all the contact points for better conductivity just because I'm .... retentive. Btw, is it common to get better battery life from a mech mod? I'm seeing way longer vape times with this than with my vamo.

it is common to get better battery times with the mechanical mods. vv devices really can eat up batterys compared to mechanicals. after my batterys die in my provari my mechanical mod will still go for another 3 hrs more,

Are you using a super thin wick? If I make a 4 wrap coil with 32 it's far more than 0.8 ohms.

However, I DID get my Natural today (along with some 18350 batteries, as the 650's are too big for me) and wrapped my AGA with 28 wire to about 1.2 ohms, but am now deciding whether I want to fill it with my favorite liquid (Legend) that I just got yesterday, or go with something less tasty that is well steeped. Hhhmm.....

I'm twisting the wire to get the ohms down then making my coil. I tried an identical atomizer that has a 1.3 ohm coil and it was just meh, but the .8 coil rocks.

Thanks to everyone else for the info about battery life.

So I rolled a 1.1 ohm coil for my AGA and stuck it on my new Natural with a fresh battery. It's OK. Honestly, it's not chalking as well as with 1.6 on my Vamo. I suppose I can try an even lower coil (using 28 with about 4 wraps) but so far, I'm not terribly impressed. Unfortunately being 1.1 ohms, it's too low to run on my Vamo, so I can't even plug it on there and find a good voltage, which would let me know if I need one less wrap. I'm just worried that if I take a wrap off to get down to .9ish ohms, I'll only have 3ish wraps, and won't be getting the surface contact with my cotton wick.

It could be the wick diameter makes a difference also. I am responding about the resistance per wrap specs - because in my experience with 28g, 4/3 gets me around .8, or .9... With a 5/4 i still get .9 sometimes. I'd think a 3wrap would be much lower.

I scrapped all my devices that couldn't handle SLR sub 1.0 Ohms... the vape is superior imo. Both flavor and vapor.
Tilt and vape is foolproof to keep the juice at the wick.
With 28g wire hotspots are almost nonexistent ... just pulse and it cleans up... minimal mesh oxidization is easier too with 28g, and 3/4 wrap produces .9 Ohms aprox. every time.
A good mechanical or hybrid device is necessary... it will take some time (i guess 6 months) before the industry catches up with demand for good mechanicals. Where we don't have to pay an arm and a leg if we are lucky enough to snag one in the first place (f5).

Dont forget IMR batts, and personally I'd stay away from 18350's... my iHybs and the Polidiac all came with 3 tubes... not necessary imo.

Uke is the 18350 just not enough batt life? I'd like to go smaller than 18650 for hand fit/carry reasons.

i am not expert on electronics by far.... some say its dangerous at SLR (18350) but they do it all the time so go for it.
Dont forget there is the 18500....
