I didn't completely quit right away. But I went from a pack and a half a day to to about four a day. Don't feel like you have to quit all together right away. Go at your own pace. If you cut down only by 50 or 40 0r 30 percent, you are still making progress.QUOTE=xthestrukonex;7869566]I'm just wondering how many of you all quit analogs once they got their first e cig/pv? I've tried my friends' ecigs and am getting my first one in the mail tomorrow. Hoping I can get off analogs right away, maybe input could give me motivation for that? Plus I'm simply curious.[/QUOTE]

I switched from analog's to a PV because analogs are too expensive here. I've bought the occasional pack of analogs since and the first few cigarette's taste absolutely horrible. After a few more they still taste terrible but I actually start to enjoy it a little bit. By the end of the pack I'm a little sad they're gone but I quickly forget about them. When I have bought a pack I haven't exclusively smoked analogs, usually 1-2 in the morning then another 1-2 in the late evening before bed. I've actually been very surprised at how little I crave them anymore. Its kind of nice to know that I could easily indulge in the occasional analog or fine Cuban cigar and not be hooked again.

I tried a convenience store throw away, and saw the potential, but the tobacco flavor was bad! That afternoon, I was driving through town, and saw a big sign for a store's grand opening, a vape shop. I stopped in and spent 2 hours talking and tasting different juices. I walked out with a ego kit and a bottle of juice. My 3 1/2 pad habit went to a few smokes, but I was carrying my cigs, at 5 days I realized that I hadn't lit up for a day and a half!!! I carried that security blanket pack with me for 2 weeks but never had the desire to light up... so finally tossed it and gave my last 3 packs to a friend, that was 15 months ago. I learned quickly that I don't like vaping a single flavor, I need to keep switching, so I normally have 4 or 5 ego batteries with me all the time, all with different flavors in them.

Completely quit for about 2 years, but have sadly just started again as i'm in a country where vaping is illegal and have run out of E-juice :(

Do you know any of the official reasoning and/or laws that went into them illegalizing vaping? It intrigues me, because I know there has been talks of "banning" it or what not, and would just like to know what kind of reasoning they may have "justified or rationalized" to make something so beneficial to the smoking community, illegal?

I could not quit right away. But after a couple of months of vaping, when I became comfortable with it, I began to cut back to a pack a week. I did the pack a week for about another month, and now am vaping 100%, and not smoking analogs at all.
Unfortunately, I realized that I sometimes am vaping more than I was smoking. Having realized this, I keep the e-cig out of reach and have cut back by about half. I realize that no one promotes vaping as a means to quit nicotine entirely, but that is where I want to go. I think it will be easier to quit vaping than smoking. In converting to 100% vaping, I have "beaten" at least part of the cigarette habit. My lungs have certainly cleared up a lot.
I'll post how the rest of "quitting" goes later. Good health to all!

The Electronic Cigarette ? The Answer To Quit Smoking?

I did, tried many times before. Tried an ecig many years ago when they first came around. Blew a bunch of money and the thing sucked!! Now, they are sooo much better. As soon as I hit it for the first time I knew that was the end of analogues for this guy!!! :vapor:

2 years ago tonight at midnight I had my last marlboro 100 after a almost 48 year long habit.
Started with a "FREE--JUST PAY SHIPPING" ripoff that kept me going for a few weeks.
Then found ECF--bought a ego kit from Liberty Flights and never looked back.
Many other types have been tried in last 2 years--Reo Grand and Mini, 6 or7 box mods of 1 sort or another.
Sparkplug--echo--the list goes on.
But amazingly i still am using both of my almost 2 year old ego batteries to this day!!!!

Happy New Year to all!!!!! :)

It has been a week for me. On the 4th day I fired one up, not because I was craving but just to see what I had enjoyed so much for 50 yrs. No throat hit & it tasted like a dirty burnt sock might taste! After just 7 days I see myself as a non-smoker. After doing the gum/patch I believed my last breath would be used for toking on a cig. My wife can't believe it.

I quite as soon as I got my new pv. I started with V2, then Halo, and now eGo Twist. I have converted multiple relatives over from analogs and it feels awesome. I even handed out pamphlets I made at work to help some quite. Unfortunately, I suggested Halo Cigs, but now after multiple issues ( and a negative review, I'm about to write) I wish I would have steered them towards something else. I hope they don't have the same issues I've had with Halo!
