Honestly, my first visit to vaping was a brief one prior to relapse. The positive note is that I dropped analogs on the spot when I ditched the tiny cheapo ecig and got my first ego. It was a night and day difference when I could throw reasonable power onto a tank of juice. Within 10 minutes of the upgrade, I threw the remainder of my coffin nail carton into the compactor at work. In hindsight, it was a poor decision to leave lighters in it. So I'd recommend get a device of reasonable quality. (eg: not one you find in a gas station.)

Some additional advice that helped me is not to spend time searching for a juice that tastes like an analog. Different flavor helps to cut ties with smoking. Instead find a flavor, fruit, sweet, or mint that you find irresistibly delicious and vape as you would smoke. Bring it outside, use it in the car and treat it like a smoke to bring it into your routine for the first while.

I used to smoke small cigars (Meharis Java) for the last 5 years instead of cigarettes. When I decided to move to PV i was recommended an eGo from work buddies so I did not start with cheap ecig.
They recommended juices for me and ordered the first batch of juices from TW which are 80-20. Both my wife and I had a hard time to start with that juice because of too much TH. So the first couple of weeks and while on a trip, I was maybe vaping 50%. After the trip, I ordered some 20-80 and everything clicked for me. After the second day on the juice, I dropped to 1 cigar after dinner and after 4 days, I could not stand it anymore and dropped analog entirely. I am now about a month on PV only.
Funny that I can now vape the original juice without problems now. PG does not bother me anymore. My wife is starting to get used to it as well with some 0-100, but it is still a bit harder for her.

I quit analogs over 6 months ago, the day after i picked up vaping. I was lucky that a very generous friend gave me a nice mod, cartos and most important, some great juice. I was doubly lucky in that once I started vaping, the urge to pick up a cigarette really wasnt there anymore so it was a fairly easy quit (I had tried quitting analogs maybe 6 other times in the past, obviously unsuccessfully). Thinking back, I think what did it for me was that I really like the juice and the nicotine level was high enough that i got my fix. Plus I like the fact that I didn't smell like smoke anymore. What kept me going these past 6 months is i'm constantly trying out new juices and hardware, looking for the ultimate setup and juice. That's given me something to look forward to and kept my mind off analogs.

I watched a buddy of mine go through the hassle of an cheap "cig-a-like" for almost 3 months, he picked up an ego twist, and that convinced me this would work. That same week I smoked my last analog on my way to pick up an ego twist setup. And I haven't been back since. I have quit analogs before cold turkey and lasted several months that way so maybe it was just easier for me. The only reason I had ever started back up again was because most of my friends have always been smokers so the social aspect/peer pressure kept bringing me back.

My first experience was with the cigarette like e-cig a year ago. Bought a set, didn't work as expected because the atomizer kept burning out. Bought a second set (supposed to be the upmarket version), although the atomizer didn't burnt as often but i never really get the satisfaction i craved. Total money down the drain around 300 bucks. During that time, i kept smoking with the analogs part-time. Gave up on the digital and went back to analogs until i discovered the clearomizer and ego system about 2 months ago. Since then, its digital all the way.

I would have quit in one day if I had been on this forum and learned a bit before I started. I went with the v2 ultimate kit since I saw an add online and spent about 200.00 on a cigalike kit. LOL. After about a month they ran out of stock of the carts I liked. Couldn't get any of the ones I liked for a month and then it was chinese New Year and in China they don't work so the slow boats didn't show up and I went back to cigarettes. At that time I had no clue of other suppliers or other equip. I think that is why I don't use 808 equip. I like multiple suppliers so when someone is out I can order from many other sites.

I tried using a V2, but was unsuccessful. I recently picked up my first Variable Voltage and quit the same day and haven't looked back, which was three weeks ago.
Tried a cheap e-cig to see if it would be any good for my dad who really needs to cut back and was surprised how easily it made me lose my craving for my pipe it didn't last long and I went back to my pipe while waiting for a VGO2 from Jaqvapour haven't had tobacco for 4/5 weeks now but have to admit I need a better set up than the VGO

I have read that if you find yourself needing a cigarette, increase the nicotine level of your juice to break the craving. Other than that, you hold and eCig much the same, you draw in vapor much the same way as you do smoke, and you exhale. It was harder for me when I quit analogs with a generic eCig previously. All I used was 24mg nicotine and it was much rougher. Major difference for me is the variety in the juices, so I am hoping for the best this time around.

I never really enjoyed the taste of cigarettes, but liked the habit of it, enjoyed the inhale/exhale, etc.

Since I started vaping, the smell of cigs on peoples breath makes me cringe. I'm not saying I'll never ever smoke again, but I don't like the smell that comes with it.
I haven't had one since I started vaping, though have been tempted on two occasions. I stopped myself, by remembering that I don't NEED to smoke, becaused I get the same satisfaction form vaping. Plus I don't get the nasty tobacco taste.

My BF bought 10 cigs the other night when we were having a drink at home (he used to have the occasional smoke with me when we drank)
He asked if I wanted one. I was fuming! I made him crumple them up and bin them as I didn't want them in the house. I also told him if he is going to start smoking again, then so am I! After all, I'm mostly doing this to save pennies.

Studies show that as many as 30 to 50% of people who use them will quit. And if you use them 20 times a day the chances go up to 70%. As a physician with an interest in addiction treatment I can tell you that it makes perfect scientific sense that this would work. The key is the electronic cigarette you choose needs to be as close in feel, smell, taste, look to the real thing as possible. One this is for sure, the success rate that I have seen has been astronomically better than the nicotine patch or gums or going cold turkey.

Now one of the things that puzzles me, vaping(I do hate that term) has a good success rate in getting people to stop smoking so why does it not receive the same the same publicity as patches, gum etc? why is it not pushed as an alternative to smoking in all the health literature we are bombarded with?
Or is it the fact its an alternative rather than a cessation of smoking? either way it should receive a lot more publicity than it does
