I told my boss during lunch one day, that I've quit cigarettes and started vaping. A week later she came in and saw my provari on my desk and asked what it was. She instantly brightened up when I said it was my pv and asked me to take a hit and show her. Since then I've been vaping non stop at my desk. Then again, it's just the two of us and she's mostly in court or in jail talking to clients. ^^;;

I live in the midwest, small towns, and e-cigs around here are almost unknown. Convenience stores are beginning to sell them, but you see virtually no one using them. I work for a small service company, traveling a hundred mile radius, and have exposure to people in all kinds of businesses. From day one, I have never backed down. I vape anywhere at work, in any vehicle, and on almost all job sites. To date, I have had absolutely no trouble or objections. In fact, any limitation is imposed by myself out of common sense; I do not take it into any human food processing facility or any explosive environment. Anywhere else is fair game, including restaurants and stores.

I guess it's just because we are a little more laid back than big city folks, but absolute nobody has any problem with it. In fact, some customers almost expect to see me with it now. Most assume and ask if I am trying to quit smoking. I reply by letting them know that I have quit, but I like my nicotine. And, most of them already understand that nicotine is not really the 'bad guy' in cigarettes.

The end result: I love e-cigarettes, and I like where I live. If only these hicks would stop killing themselves with endless smoking and give vaping a try. They are truly stubborn!

I vape at work....

On my 15 minute break time....

In the designated smokers area....

Outside....

With all the smokers....

I think its about that time that I start searching for a new job after reading this.

That's pretty much how it is here. Company jumped on the "ZOMG, we don't know nothing about anything, so let's ban it!" and included it in the regular smoking policy.
"Oh, you quit cigarettes and no longer need to go on smoke breaks, and you improved your health, meaning less sick leave? Well here's your reward: Go outside, to the stinky ashtrays and smokers, in the nice winter weather, and vape away". Idiots. Simply, idiots.
But: They're not around all the time, are they ;)

These are some great stories! Thank you all so much for participating. Someday, my hope is that vaping will be accepted and that the non-smokers will be grateful that we are no longer filling their lungs with second hand smoke. You would think that they would encourage it, it's such a great alternative to analogs, for everyone.

Yeah, I'm still relegated outside with the other smokers at my job, but I don't mind all that much. It gets me away from the counter, the cacophony that is part and parcel of the job, and I can be casually evangelical with the customers outside. Not that I try to shove vaping down other peoples' throats or anything, but if they ask? I am more than willing to answer any question and point them in the right direction.

I'm a delivery driver and we aren't allowed to smoke on deliveries or even smell like smoke when we get to work. Nobody other than area managers or above cares too much about coming into work smelling like cigs. 5 of us vape and nobody at the store cares, we all just gonna vape away until somebody says something, but we generally hide it for the area manager or above people. Two of the drivers only vape at work smoke the rest of the time, maybe one day they will convert all the way.

Three of us have provaris we get some long confused stares when we vape out in the parking lot, nobody has yet to ask me what I am doing puffing on this giant thing. I always wonder what they are thinking.
