Hi guys! Just a quick question. How safe are whole tobacco alkaloids (wta) that are used in e liquids? Now firstly, I am off the analogs for 4 months, couldnt be happier but am still looking for my all day vape! So recently purchased el toro cigarillos naturalles and like it but then just started doing some research and saw that peoe mention wta's can have traces of carcinogens present?? Now the normal pg/vg and nicotine liquids have me very happy and I see that some people only go for liquids with wta's due to having cravings still, I am not one of those people but want to find an all day vape and try lots of liquids!! Just wondering how safe these wta liquids are in comparison to the 'normal' liquids??

i don't have an empirical answer. For that you would need to GC/MS a sample and look for the nitrosamines or other carcinogens in a sample. I can say that some of the toxic things we avoid by not smoking are present in our fav food like BBQ, any blackened lines or parts of beef, chx, or any meat, the delicious golden brown of hash browns, french fries, potato chips, burnt sugar, blackened sugar, etc.

Since most of these are the products of combustion or burning over fire, i would say there can't be nearly enough carcino stuff in WTA compared to tobacco smoke. some of the flue-cured tobacco gives me pause as fire or heat is a component in preparing the leaves, but i try to avoid those.

All done with vaping now, Vapoor?

Thanks r77r7r for asking. Yes for the time being and it's been approx. one month- didn't record it exactly cuz I didn't want to jinx myself....just like my dry date. Wasn't so bad except missed the hand to mouth action/ habit...I had lottsa projects on hand to keep me busy and wife has never been happier now that she can update and add to the "Honey Doo" List
All in all it hasn't been too bad and for myself it was just a matter of keeping busy.
Still keeping all my gear and juice though just in case.
    Have a great weekend.

While your El Toro Cigarillos Naturalles may contain a speck of minor alkaloids, it technically is not a WTA eliquid but rather an extracted tobacco flavor. The two extent manufacturers of WTA extract nicotine and the minor alkaloids from tobacco and add it to either flavored or unflavored eliquid so that the ratio of nicotine to minor alkaloids maintain the balance found in tobacco. WTA is not a flavor.
WTA ejuice is what I have vaped almost exclusively for a couple years. I love it and I feel great. I suppose there may come a day when I succumb to some smoking related malady, in that case I'll certainly point to the 37 years of smoking which preceded my vaping epiphany as the cause.

Not all the alkaloids in tobacco are bad anyway. Theres antinflammatory effects for example, which is one of the reasons quitting can be hard. Another thing to consider is that caramel and some other flavors have trace carcinogens too.. for the mentioned reason, anything "charred" has some carcinogens, including many many foods we eat.
