Hi,

I was wondering how many of you still vape on 1.8ohm Kanthal (or close to that). I haven't caught on to subohm vaping even though I have a Triton tank. I like the way higher resistance coils heat up slower (so I can take longer draws), as well as the increased battery life and reduced heat.

I kind of feel like it's older tech though, so am curious if I am the minority these days, trying to recreate the vape of my old ego =p

Thanks!

I do. :) Use the old Davides with Kanger coils at 1.8. on a ProVari 2.5. Works for me, It's what's I'm happy at. There's probably other stuff out there that would work better but every time I try something else I quickly run back to my old reliable. I'm happy there and so that's what I'm stocking up with. I feel no shame in that. If it makes you happy, who cares what others think? :) If it works for them, I couldn't feel happier for them. Y'know, whatever gets your rocks off.

My two favorite setups are a ProVari P3 with a Kabuki or KFL+V2 topper, and a BilletBox. The Kabuki is a flavor chaser's dream, and uses Nautilus BVC coils -- 1.6 or 1.8. The flavor is better than anything I've ever tried, including dual .6 ohm and Claptons. The BilletBox can use rebuildables, or 1.6-1.8 BVCs (not Nautis). Outstanding! I've come full circle: flavor is where it's at, for me; it's what keeps me far far away from analogs. I think there are more than a few of us out there :)

Used to have an authentic Kayfun Lite-Plus v2, but I lost it while I was in the Philippines. I have since replaced the Kayfun with a Lemo 2.

I make a single coil using Kanthal 27 guage wire in the 1.2 - 1.4 ohm range.

I feed this coil 12.5 watts of power.

BTW ... I vape mouth to lung (like I would a cigarette)

1.8Ω for me in a simple smoktech ARO tank on istick 30's and MVP 11 watt batteries. I have tried the lower Ω's and it isn't for me. I do a MTN (mouth through nose) draw. Since the vapor doesn't have to go down into the lungs to do its job I figure I am doing my lungs a favor by not putting it in there.

I have a supply of RDA's for just in case. If I ever have to use them I will still stick with 1.8Ω on them. I enjoy a cooler vape and a long battery life :) I also have a couple of mechanicals for just in case but hope I never have to use them.
