Hi,

I was wondering how many of you still vape on 1.8ohm Kanthal (or close to that). I haven't caught on to subohm vaping even though I have a Triton tank. I like the way higher resistance coils heat up slower (so I can take longer draws), as well as the increased battery life and reduced heat.

I kind of feel like it's older tech though, so am curious if I am the minority these days, trying to recreate the vape of my old ego =p

Thanks!

LOL, i see comments like this often and say to myself why do people feel that newer must be better , i saw another post recently with someone saying " i have a Magma RDA but it's old tech " i say hogwash to all of it.

I personally don't care even a little bit what others think of what i use or don't use , to me i think the people who have the "must obtain most powerful mod on planet " and " must vape lowest ohm build without blowing head off" mindset's are in the minority .

What i like is being able to afford great mods and tanks that fit my vaping style and were too cost prohibitive in the past because of the new belief that sub ohm and mega watt mods are the thing .

What this means is you are in good company and thousands of others agree with you , vaping higher ohm builds at under 20 watts is a fantastic vape , enjoy and who cares what others are doing or what they like .

I run 1.5 to 2.4 in my modified airflow Evod and T3XL tanks depending on what I mount them on. Waiting for 1.8 and 2.4 precoiled nr- r-nr wire to arrive from FT. Seems to me that wire should be more efficient for battery life?
I don't know about being more efficient for battery life but they sure make rebuilding protank/evod coil easy :D I get the 4 wick 1.8 Ω and they work perfect for me.

I still only use kanthal coils anywhere from 1.0 ohms to 3.0 ohms depending on the coil head and tank. Honestly sub ohm vaping is just not for me after trying it a few times now, same with TC.
I still get a lot of enjoyment out of my carto tanks with a 2.0 - 3.0 boge carto and I also like my ego one with a 1.0 ohm coil head which took a little getting used to. Personally I still tend to believe mtl, lower watts, higher ohm vapers are still in the majority. :) plus, I seriously like not burning through much eliquid or batteries in a day and the great flavor even with a low percentage of it in my eliquid that I get with lower watt/higher ohm vaping.

1.8Ω for me in a simple smoktech ARO tank on istick 30's and MVP 11 watt batteries. I have tried the lower Ω's and it isn't for me. I do a MTN (mouth through nose) draw. Since the vapor doesn't have to go down into the lungs to do its job I figure I am doing my lungs a favor by not putting it in there.

I have a supply of RDA's for just in case. If I ever have to use them I will still stick with 1.8Ω on them. I enjoy a cooler vape and a long battery life :) I also have a couple of mechanicals for just in case but hope I never have to use them.

I alway's use coils builds from 1.2- 2.0 ohm's in RDA's and it flat out provides a great vape , i was shocked that it works so well actually lol. A Magma with a single coil build is a fantastic vape even at 15 watts .

Most who use RDA's would think your nuts lol.

I'm always over 1.2 ohms; sometimes over 4 ohms

1.5-2.0 ohms is my normal range...at about 8 watts. I build these coils for Kayfuns, Ego Ones (CLR), and even the Subtank rba.

I go to bed every night with an ego and 1.8 ohm protank II mini on my night stand held neatly in a shot glass (a nice cut glass shot glass, because my wife won't let me have something that's not classy on the night stand.)
