Hello All,
I just placed my birthday order for two more Reos, (adding to the three I already have), and I wondered how the rest of us jumped on the Reo train.

In my case I admit it was simply a case of "I want a Reo for my collection". I had been vaping for about 4 months and had already jumped to Provari and Hana. I had also spent way too much money on "high end" mechanical mods. vaping had become a hobby and I fall into that "have to have" category of people.

I wasn't really expecting that much from such a simple mod and atty design. I learned about REO's from this forum and thought it would be a "unusual" addition to my collection.

I have been blown away by the performance of Rob's work. I went through the "magnets falling out" debacle but never regreted buying any REO. I take at least two with me to work every day since I've dedicated them to specific eliquids. The two new ones means I'll have 2 different flavors waiting when I get home, (WhooHoo! Yes, I live a quiet life nowadays).

So, since the chance of seeing another Reo in the field seems about 0. What convinced you to buy that first ticket to Reoville?

Regards,
Frank

I came from the basic 510 cig-a-like. I figured there had to be something more reliable and stumbled across REOs here. I loved the concept and tried it out with a plastic bottom feeder called an Old Goat made by a member here. I was sold and soon after ordered a REO. That was about 3 years ago. My original Mini is still going strong, and I've added a few more. I have never had any interest in tubes and tanks. I like functional, compact, easy to carry and use mods. REOs are perfect!

Last year I found the vaping way to give up analogs. I bought my first mod and it died in a week and a half. I'm lucky enough to have a B&M that sells ProVari near by so I go there and get one and loved it. I bought a version2 from ProVape a little later on and asked in the ProVari forum what do I do now for my milestones. I mean I had two of the best ever mods what could be an award for my 6 month, year etc. Someone suggested a Reo in that thread. Okay off to this forum I go I lurk around for a couple of weeks and I notice something. These Reonauts are real people like me not a bunch of snobbish folks who think they are above all others. (I must say not all ProVari people are snobs, it just seemed like many are. Also I have nothing against ProVari or their community and still have mine to this day and use it, I just prefer using my Reos) So now 10 Reos later (I have another one paid for but I haven't received it from the seller on the classies) I love them and this community I feel at home here with a great Mod, Super owner, and the best people on this planet.

I went from egos to tanks and an MVP2 and liked it a lot. Bought an SVD, it was ok, but wasn't into such huge tube things. Saw a lot of threads about dripping and decided to give it a go and bought an HCigar Nemesis, the mag upgrade and absolutely fell in love with dripping and building my own coils and such. The main drawback was always having to carry my juice with me and pop the drip tip every couple of vapes and drip more. I don't remember exactly where I saw it, but someone was raving about Reos, so I found this forum and actually hung out here in silent mode for awhile. I finally chimed in and found the folks here so nice and helpful. I found a Reo on the classifieds. It just popped in right in my face just as I got there and decided that was my call. I bought it, bought the upgrade kit, some other stuff, and was totally wowed by it. I have since bought only 1 more, but both of them are my daily companions at work and at home. One day, I'll add to the collection. Congrats on having so many in such a short time frame!

I went home, 3rd world country and thought I took the right mods. A plastic bottom feeder, cheap converted BF RDA, and a bunch of dripping attys, with some ego's/cartos as backups. I was really loving the bottom feeder, for the first few days....and then all went to ..... Nothing worked right, it leaked, dry hits....I almost went back to smoking just knowing that I had a month left to deal with this.

I came back and decided I was going to get a real Bottom Feeding Box Mod :vapor:

I joined ECF in 2011 and saw the REO's then, stalked them actually. And then life got in the way, I was on an eGo C at the time, and I went back to smoking and left the forum. I returned in September 2013 and went through a eGo "like" twist, MVP, SVD, SID, VAMO, even Provari - and finally bit the bullet and got my first REO and it was game over. Then came Woodvil night and I discovered I just LOVE the feel of the Woodvils and sold all my metals (at one time, I had nine REO's). I'm now down to three, but will definitely be planning to participate in the Mechanical Woodvil run. I do still have a mechanical Kamry 101, but I rarely use it.

I've always been a fan of side-by-side mods. As in, battery is in parallel to your juice tank and atomizer. Made a few atrocious mods myself.
Then I tried a VMod (mind you, that was before reomizers came out, so all that with cartos).
I liked the VMod, but everyone was nudging me towards a Reo. Got my first Grand a year and a half ago, and it's been my main vape ever since :) Tried a few other format Reos, Kayfun, Typhoon, Fogger, various genesis tanks, bottom coil tanks, etc. But I keep coming back to mah Grand <3

I went from a cig alike (had to recharge every hour) to an Ego t (leaked everywhere) to a Lavatube with cartos (getting better) to a Bolt with carto tanks (first dive into the mech pool) to a Provari with carto tank (this was good:)).

When the rumblings about regulation and bans began again, I figured I needed to learn to rebuild and DIY my own juice. Bought a DID and used it on the Provari for awhile (this was very good) Then I figured that the chipset was the weak link in my plan and started collecting mechs.

I thought I was where I wanted to be with my mechs and Kayfuns when I kept seeing posts about this REO thing. I watched a couple of Russ's videos (I blame it all on him ;)) and decided I needed to check this REO thing out.

That's when one morning I posted in the REO forum and the feedback and response was just the push I needed.

Now, y'all are stuck with me :p

I'd been vaping for about a year. Started with cigalikes, and quickly tired of changing batteries every hour, paying through the nose for cartos, etc. Moved on to EGOs, then dripping, and dearly loved my Screwdrivers, but the hassle of dripping kept bugging me. It was fine when at home, but out and about, just too much to fiddle with.

Along about that time, I built my own PV, using the guidance of this thread. It was the best vape ever, but still a dripper. But along about that time Mr. Puck was experimenting with adding a bottle onboard to avoid the dripping hassle, and I gave it a shot. After a few dismal failures, a light came on, and I thought, "Why am I trying to build one, surely someone already makes one like this, CLEO or NEO or something like that" :)

So, after a week lurking on the REO subforum, I ordered a mini, within a week, a backup mini, and in another month a grand, then another for it's "backup". Now that I'm a "seasoned" vaper, I only order grands, REO grands, that is. (said in my best Foghorn Leghorn voice :) )

It was Robs website - REOsmods.com that hooked me :)

JK. I found ECF after vaping cig alikes and then a dickalike for about month. Caridwen heard my cries for help pointed me over here.

I got my first REO (a mini 2.0) in October 2012 and the rest of the story is much like everyone else's :)

What convinced me? - I've talked about this before, and I do realize that some folks get upset about discussing other mods in the REO sub-forum... But, I'm going to and those who don't like it should either stop reading now or finish reading what I have to say and understand why I say it:

Rob's best friends should be MostAngryPirate and Old Goat. He should kiss those two fellows right on the mouth at least twice a week. In fact, he should be laying out great big hugs to everyone who has ever made a feeder or tank. Every single one of them... even the one or two who made some really nice feeders but can't scale up their manufacturing.

Having enough juice on board to not have to mess with anything is AWESOME! Being able to be minimalist about the vaping habit is absolute NIRVANA! Filling and carrying cartos sucks. Clearos suck. Carrying bottles of juice to drip sucks. Tanks almost don't suck, but really end up sucking because they need to be filled, cleaned, tinkered with, so they pretty much suck...

In my first year or so of vaping, I recognized that having a juice supply in/with the device was the only reasonable thing. The ego-t was almost genius but fell pretty far short... the 510-t was almost genius but fell pretty far short... the MAP tank was indeed genius but severely limited by CE2s.... I could type a list of devices that incorporated a juice supply and still managed to suck for one reason or another (or a multitude of reasons).

Old Goat sold hundreds of plastic feeders... including a couple to me. They just were not made of materials that would last... Just as an example (not going to make a list of feeder makers) RedSky has sold hundreds of "high end" wood feeders, but I could never get one when I wanted one....

And, then there is REO. I've been around long enough to remember "sale nights" and I realize that constant/consistent availability wasn't how things began... but Rob stepped up in a really big way and I can visit his website any time I want and see mods for sale ready to ship. I only own a couple of them, but no doubt it will be three pretty soon. - Why did I get a REO and why do I continue to use REOs? Because they are the only mod that actually makes sense. They not only make sense, but they are built to last. They not only make sense and are built to last, but they are available... They are not only available, built to last, make sense, but also backed by a guy who jumped in with both feet and really stepped up for the vaping community....

That's why.
