Why am I enjoying my itaste vaping better when it's set at watts than volts?

Let me first say I just started vaping 10 days ago so while have read stuff about Ohm's Law, I'm still trying to wrap my brain around it..after reading things here and watching various you tubes I switched over to watts instead of volts and it is SO much better flavor/Vape, etc.. The little screen now reads P8.0
Still nervous about blowing something up or frying it. The coils I bought have been using have "2.8" on the box and the screen reads between 2.8 and 3.0. I have wattage at 8. When I was monitoring volts I kept it at 4 cuz I thought anything above would fry the coils.

You were vaping at about 5.5 watts in the other mode. Volts at 4.0 and about 2.9 ohms.

In power mode your pv detects the resistance and sets power accordingly , 4 volts is a little low for 2.8 - 3 ohms .

Your sending about 4.8 volts to it with it set at 8 watts.

next time when you are buying refill, try getting lower resistance.

8 watts is in the range of normal vaping. I generally stick to 6 watts or so, but I change my wattage or voltage to suit taste with the juice I'm vaping. Some juices like more, some like less.

There is the ohm's law calc app you can download from apple or google.

Try setting your voltage at 4.7 volts. It should be exactly the same vape as your 8 watt setting. Try switching back and forth and you'll see that it's the same

I just use the wattage setting with my vv3 & MVP2's

6.5 - 8.5 is my usual range depending on juice & tank usually a ICLEAR16 or 30 (top coils) or Protank 2 bottom coil)

Adjusting volts or watts are just a means to the end result. With volts, you can tune your vape a little finer than watts, unless you can adjust watts by 0.1 increments. Otherwise, 0.5 watt adjustment gets you in the ballpark.

Either way, it all boils down to preference. If you find you like one over the other, its all good. Personally, I use watts, as I can switch tanks with different resistances without having to figure out how many volts, etc.

I usually vape at 4.2v but I just switched to 8watts just to try it. On my 2.6ohm coil it's going at 4.5v and it definitely has a bit more flavor. Kind of a warmer vape though which I'm sure I'll get used to. No burnt taste though so that's good.

Question:

If a Mod has a power (watts) option and therefore must be able to measure (or perhaps calculate I should say) the element's resistance, why on god's earth would that mod bother to have a user Voltage setting option? It's seems completely redundant to me.
