Why are people still dripping?

I drip new flavors because a dripper atty is easy to wash and start fresh. Once I understand a flavor, I put it in a carto. I use cartos until I taste a change in flavor, then I toss them. It's more expensive, but I can't stand muted or nasty taste in my vaping.

I used to drip when I was watching a movie on TV and could sit next to the bottle and a paper towel (for blowing out the atty). I've never taken a dripper atty out of the house, it's just too complex to keep up with a bottle and dripping is stressful when people are honking the horn at a traffic light! Cartos solve that problem even though you have to top them off every 30 minutes.

To use an analogy, some people mix drinks and others drink it by the shot. Why the heck don't they mix it? Because they don't want to. It's just that simple. We all have our methods and preferences.

Despite all the improvements made with cartomizers, tanks, ce2s, and so on, I still see a ridiculous amount of people who drip. My question is this, don't you find this completely tedious? If I had to drip some liquid after every 5-6 puffs, I'd have quit vaping a long time ago.

I know some of you are going to say the taste is what it is all about. I've done some dripping and I find no real difference between dripping and say using a ce2 clearo. And I mean, the atomizer itself is always going to sort of vary as it ages. Am I completely missing something?

What are you kidding me? Come on now Direct Dripping is the absolute best way for peformance and TASTE.... I have tried cartomizers-- For me cartos have that paper filler taste and tanks? Well tanks can leak and take away from the clean lines of a Mod.... Old school Direct Dripping is so easy and works so well.............

Miami,

I'm ready to try some atty's and would like to order a few 306s. I need debridged to drip, right?

Thanks,

Bechi

I use 510s.... I have been a dripper for 2 1/2 years and NO you do not need to debridge to drip... In fact I find it better to leave the bridge intact/ it gives more holding area for your e-liquid..............

I've done direct dripping and to me the CE2 replicates that taste and in fact taste better than direct dripping. I'm no fan of polyfill cartos either and never use them, but I think if you get down to it the juice touches less metal with a CE2 and thus there's less taste contamination. An atomizer puts your juice in contact with what? a bunch of steel wool??

The only problem I find with the ce2 is that once they are only about 30% full, you've got to tip them upside down to feed the coil. Which is still about 300 times faster and easier than dripping.

If your atomizer tastes the same or worse than a Ce2 then it's a garbage atty.

I really have to almost completely agree with this.

But there is an exception. I have a couple of juices that only taste good to me from a CE2. Both are mostly VG but really thin because they are flavored with an alcohol based flavoring. I have about a dozen juices with alcohol based flavorings and a few of them really are not good for me in any sort of a filler carto and those two I mentioned just aren't right in any sort of an atty either. -- That's the reason I continue to use my MAP tanks on occasion and haven't sold them or packed them away, in fact.

I am a little disappointed to hear some of the comments that bottom feeding doesn't produce the same results as dripping - I'd thought this would be like the holy grail for me in terms of keepin' the vapor pumpin' at the luxurious level to which I've become accustomed LOL. I'm probably still getting a Reo Grand at some point :)

I have dripped, used top feeder mods, and used bottom feeders. I don't see a lick of difference. I will say that even if you know how to drip, you still have to learn to use a bottom feeder. That could be part of the problem. I also noticed that the guy that said that is dripping on a 5V. There aren't a lot of 5V bottom feeders out there. That could be part of the difference as well.

This is my take on it too, and how it tastes to me. But still yet, lotta fans for dripping. I feel CE2's are less 'taste contamination' as well.

I find dripping less hassle than any other type carto/clearo. I vape 24mg juice at 10 watts so all I need is 4 or 5 hits and I am good. To me dripping is equal to lighting up an analog. Poly carto's taste like poly and I found myself dripping them just as much as atty's just to keep the flavor somewhat consistent. Put them in a tank takes care of feeding issues but I still taste poly. Clearos I find certain juice works great while others turn into absolute garbage. Plus having to carry a syringe around to refill is more work than dipping. I have 2 Genesis lines that I have been using and the flavor is even better than dripping but they are a bit finicky. If I didn't have them I would still be dripping full time.

I drip because:

1. The TH is better
2. The taste is better.
3. I have it down to a science. Each puff is virtually identical.
4. Properly used, an atty can go for a looooong time
5. I use far less liquid with dripping (especially when compared to dual coil cartos)
6. The ritual is kinda fun too.
7. Socially, I don't give a rat's behind what other people may think. Those days are looooooong gone.

When/If asked, I tell them that this is the old school method of vaping that offers some advantages that I happen to enjoy. I make sure I mention that there are far more practical methods available to choose from.
