Why can't everyone be so nice?!

Vapers are a very small community. How many people do you see vaping during an average day? I see NONE. If we don't support each other on this forum, who will? If I need something I ask here on ECF. If someone else needs something, they ask here on ECF. This forum is a valuable asset worth treasuring because without it, I would have given up vaping a long time ago. The rude ones seem to weed themselves out (or was it a moderator?)

If you think about it, you don't see that many people smoking in public anymore, at least not like you did 10 or 20 years ago. If 22% of Americans smoke and far less than 10% vape, then it's no surprise that restaurants and stores are smoke and vape free. In two years, I've not run across another vaper in my city while I was out. They either don't do it in public or they are hiding very well!

I first found out about vaping from an internet sidebar ad from a company that appeared to be a TV news show, but turned out to be one of those companies that gave you a free ecig if you e-signed a contract and provided a credit card number for refills. I suppose they would have loaded me up with stuff I didn't want if I had bitten.

That's how I found ECF. My research here wised me up and prevented me from getting scammed.

Ah, it's worse than that, I'm afraid. Born and raised in western Nebraska, moved all over the west ( Texas, California, Oregon, Utah) and settled here about 11 years ago to be close to my family. I'm a dyed in the wool froth at the mouth bleeding heart liberal, though, so there's only one bible at my house, and I hollowed it out with a box cutter- that's where I keep my gun.

Seriously though, I love the prairie. Wouldn't trade it for either coast. Except around election time.

2 reasons.

1) Moderators. There aren't any in real life. If people were under threat of being banned from life if they didn't behave themselves, there'd be a lot less buttheads around.

2) Your avatar. If a girl that looks like that and is dressed like that came up to me IRL, I think I'd go out of my way to be kind, courteous and helpful. Same pretty much goes for Meggers too.

It's all we have to go by here in the virtual world.

If you guys just had pics of your PV or something, you'd prolly notice a drop in the friendliness level (sorry it's just human nature).

I would love to commiserate with someone out this way. I have gone to talk with Jay at GLV, but it's almost a 45 minute drive for me, which sucks because he is really cool!

Have you been to GLV? It must be nice to live in a state like Illinois, since it seem like there is a HUGE vaping community out there.

I've never been to GLV but I would like to go! 45 min? LOL I drove 2 hours to go to a vape meet in Flint. You should check out the Michigan forum! Theres a bunch of us over there Let me know if you can't find it and I'll shoot you the link. I'm close to the Detroit area. Head over there and you'll see where everyone lives. It's pretty neato

I lived there briefly! Topeka...I think it was just a series of bad events that caused me to dislike Kansas. It could have possibly just been Topeka and not Kansas.

Well thank you but it's not my side. That's the tattoo I have been planning on getting for quite some time now. The $$$$$ is holding me back. Everyone likes it so much I'm trying very hard to wait until I have enough money...and finally find another job. So tired of looking for one. Ugh.

Good point! Very well said! Actually everyone has made very good points. I'm just so glad we are all here And the meanies aren't!

I have run into the sweetest, generous, caring people on here. Generally, people outside the forum are really unpleasant.

Two days ago a couple as old as my grandparents gave me the finger while driving... They didn't want me slowing down while there was a police officer directing traffic in the middle of the road.

Last night my 8 yr old son was playing bowling on the Wii with his grandmother. He made a crack about how he was taking it easy on her. I said "boy, kick the crap out of that old lady" with a smile. You can imagine the look I got from her. So, she ended up stomping him.

I don't know if folks are any meaner than they have ever been .. society has just made it more acceptable to let the meaness out both in real life and on-line .. take a look at what's on TV these days and you'll see meaness collecting a paycheck ..

That, and unless one goes "off the grid", its impossible to get away from people. I literally do not have much to do with any other humans except the ones in my home and 99% of ECFers.

Keekers - This is a great summary of the way I've felt about the ECF community in my short history here so far. I initially came for the information, but I stayed for the people in the community. Even if I'm not in need of any reviews or updates on products, I'll just sit for hours and read the threads because the interaction between people here is absolutely amazing. Others have theorized as to why this community is so special, and I have my own theories, but the "why" is not so important to me anymore.

I'm just so very glad it has been and continues to be the best community of people on the net.

Me too BuGlen! Ever since I moved back home from California my life has been somewhat uneventful to say the least...it's nice to actually have fun discussion with nice people. Love it love it love it

Yes, I agree with Keekers, good people here. Even the narrow minded people who INSIST to the rank newbie, that their need for an 808 cig look alike, or their interest in eGo's, will be short lived, because what they REALLY need is a $350 device with a handbown tank with such and such a carto and these batteries etc. Then start arguing with each other over VV, VW ahms and what not.... Even those people are trying to be helpful (in their own very own special way) hehe...

I belong to a few other forums, and this one is the BEST of the lot.
