Why can't people edit vape videos? Just a rant.

This one has annoyed me to no end since I started getting into RBAs. Almost nobody edits their videos and I don't get why. We don't need to see you attempt a build twice in one continuous shot. We don't need to see where you messed up the pronounciation of something. We don't need to see your dog knock your gear over and you pick it up. We don't need to see you changing batteries unless it's some sort of test that requires a continuous shot for proof of it not being fake.

For general reviews and tutorials, EDIT YOUR VIDEOS! Nobody's asking you to produce anything Steven Speilberg quality, but spending a little post-production time makes your video much more watchable. You don't have to be Rip Trippers, cutting away every few seconds but put some effort in.

i was gonna say, trippers does this however he kinda took it too far, although in his newer vids he toned down the editing and actually has stuff to say about the device he's reviewing.

but yes it isn't hard for someone to edit out their dog spilling their juice all over their pants, having to find paper towels to pick it up, then they come back to the video " oh hey guys sorry bout that, where did we leave off? oh yeah i was just about to torch this wire, then we can start to build the coil".

sheesh

I'm going to have to completely disagree with you on that. Especially in a review I want to see the build done, unedited, warts and all so I can see just how much of a pain in the .... it is to build. Also they might edit out something that they think is just a stupid mistake on their part but it might be something that hundreds of other people are making too.

But for the first time seeing something I don't wanna see the mistakes. Or atleast hold them off until the end of the video so that we don't have to sit through it. I've been a skateboarder for years. Skate videos generally have all the tricks landed during the main part then a slam section at the end. The same concept could be used.

There is no reason in the world to watch a 45 minute video of a coil that takes me 10 minutes to build, adjust, wick and vape.

I do understand why you'd wanna see the mistakes but for things like mispronounciations, dogs getting in the video (seriously, what's with so many dogs in vape videos?) and dropping things, we don't need to see that. If you can't do the work on camera, edit that part and describe what you do, because you just have to describe it anyway. If you're saying the same thing twice, edit that out. Get rid of all the "Ummmm, lemme think...." parts. It's just extraneous and makes it seem like you never even watched the video before uploading it.

video editing is a skill ...

Advanced video editing, sure. But to cut out a few mistakes and paste together a relatively smooth clip it really takes almost 0 skill. Like I said, nobody's asking for Hollywood-quality editing.

I've been skating for almost 17 years. When making skate videos you're working with a bunch of 2 to 5-second clips. I've edited a few videos on a couple of VCRs hooked together. I've done it on the camera. I've done it on a computer. I've had absolutely 0 training besides reading some manuals on the equipment I used.

I started doing it at age 13 or 14. It's not that hard.
