Why did you change to Vaping ?

1. The high cost of tobacco products ?
2. To help preserve your health and well being ?
3. To Protect your children or grandchildren from 2nd hand smoke ?
4. Got tired of smelling like a old dirty ashtray ?

My reason is all above and I wanted to be able to spend my golden years with my wife and kids. I already have done enough damage to myself in the past that has came to haunt me now. Arthritis in my spine has slowed me down enough don't need to have lung problems too. In the pass two years of vaping my wife and I both have converted over 150 people from tobacco products to vaping and we will continue doing so.

My main reason is health. While I was smoking, I coughed a lot and I do mean a lot lot lot. I also have consistent headache. When I started vaping, my children were happy as they do not smell smoke any more. Instead they were pleased with the sweet smell of flavor except for menthol that is untraceable. Only a few days later, my cough disappeared and my headache vaporized.

I am very pleased to this day. Vaping is the answer. And oh ... convert more.

Edit: I see my doctor regularly because I have hypertension. She advised me to stop smoking. Later when I was already vaping she asked me again if I had stopped smoking. I told her that I did but substituted it with vaporizer and showed her the device. She said "Good". I wondered was she approving or otherwise.

The main reason for me was my health. I was only a month shy of turning 40 and was feeling horrible. I was coughing constantly throughout the day and night. I was having bad chest pains which I didn't know if it was my lungs hurting or if I was on the verge of having a heart attack. It was getting to the point that I was afraid to go to sleep at times because I didn't know if I would even wake up. I had no intentions of wanting to quit smoking either. So, I tried this out with the hope that it might cut back my habit maybe by half or so.

All I can say now is "WOW!!". I vape just as much as I was smoking, but I feel 100% better. No more coughing, no more chest pains, and no more guilt about what I was doing to myself.

Today is a great Thanksgiving day for me:)

My original reason was to cut down on the expense of smoking. I really didn't have any intention of quitting since I didn't really believe that was possible. I have found that vaping makes quitting smoking easy. :)

I loved Big Hitter's answer! The idea of buying new toys has definitely gotten me hooked as well. That is the reason I frequent ecf. I'm enjoying the prospect of finding new things.

I was rolling my own analogs for a cost of under 80 cents a pack. I don't think vaping is going to save me anything there. A friend showed me her blu and sparked my interest. After some research here and other places I found Blu wasn't for me and purchased a Riva Kit.
Preserving my health wasn't a consideration at the time as I didn't expect to switch, I just tried it and never looked back. It certainly is a HUGE plus, both for me and the people around me.
I didn't know how much I, nor my house and car smelled like a dirty old ashtry until I made the switch.

I just enjoy it more, much more, MUCH more, did I say MUCH? Other things that have happened as a result are just a HUGE plus.

I started vaping because I saw the e-cig as a good way to still smoke when smoking wasn't convenient. The first day of vaping I realized I really didn't like the taste of cigarettes anymore and decided to switch to only vaping. So many benefits to vaping that I'm so glad that I decided to make the switch.

I smoked for over 40 years. I never imagined I could quit smoking, even after seeing my parents, father-in-law and others die of smoking-related illnesses. I figured I had picked my poison and that was that, and no previous attempts to quit had been successful. I had never really had any obvious health symptoms from smoking until they mandated fire-safe cigarettes here in late 2008. Over the following months, I developed a persistent cough and congestion. I knew I needed to do something, but didn't know what. In October of 2009, we were on vacation with a friend who had an electronic cigar - this intrigued me, so when we got home, I started doing some research and stumbled onto the ECF. After doing a lot of reading, I ordered a kit from Vapor4Life, and 4 days after I received it, I was done smoking. I'm still amazed, and it has been over a year now.

I saw a coworker outside with one of the models you can buy at 7-11 and it made me curious. I thought it might be a good way to save some money and get around the "no indoor smoking" clause of our lease. My fiance and I started searching the Internet and ended up buying GreenSmokes. Huge mistake, but it got us started. A few days later I stumbled on ECF and bought a 510 PT. A few more days after that, we decided to buy our first Riva starter kits. The day those kits arrived is the day I quit. It wasn't my intention to quit, it just happened. I loved vaping so much that I didn't want an analog anymore. I became an "accidental quitter" and I couldn't be happier about it! The GreenSmokes were sent back for a refund and we now have 4 Rivas and 2 eGo 900mah's. It still surprises me sometimes. I look at my PV and think "this device worked where so many other things failed miserably."

I started vaping out of curiosity.... oh the possibilities! I thought surely this was too good to be true. So I spent some money and got one. The same day I tried one, I realized that smoking smelled really bad and 2 days later realized that smoking tasted really bad. I learned later that hypothetically it's cheaper to vape, though I am surely in the hole right now as I am experimenting.

I never intended on quitting... it just happened.
