I wanted to get healthier because my lungs were feeling crappy. I am also one that loved the act of smoking not realizing how much I hated using cigarettes. Once I found vaping I was in love with it. I am so thanking for ecigs!! bnrk

Yeah. I found the ritual was what I wanted, not the smoke and nicotine so much. As long as I still had/have the ritual, I have no desire to return to tobacco cigarettes. The ritual is still a strong pull on me right now, but even that has started to diminish some. I'm feeling much better about myself. Now, the tackle is the weight...

Another accidental. I bought my first pv because I was outraged by the smoking bans that prevented me from sitting at a bar and enjoying a smoke with my beer. The only reason I got my first PV was so that I could smoke MORE! My plan was to smoke my regular 1.5 packs a day like I always did but I would have the PV for situations where I couldn't smoke. When I first got it I set it up and got a massive cloud and knew that I had just quit smoking. It has been about a year and a half now. :D

Smoking was killing me health wise and financially. For years I've said I was going to quit. A co-worker introduced me to ecigs a couple of years ago. At the time I thought the starter kits were too expensive and I couldn't see putting that much money into something at one time. Now that analogs are priced where they are, it made me think about that ecig. I enjoy the act of smoking so much. I love the throat hit, the draw I have to take, the full lungs, and the strong flow when exhaling. It is just enjoyable for me. Now that I have been in the process of converting for a couple of weeks, I can say I am analog free and vaping is even more awesome than smoking. Darn near any flavor I can think of I can vape. I find myself sitting here with a smile on my face for no reason, other than I am vaping. What a wonderful world. Peace.

Grand kids and Daughter moved in with us so I figured I needed to cut back enough to not smoke in the house anymore. Started to have 1 or 2 in the garage as needed and finally got to the point of quitting. I feel better and the house smells quite alot better as well. No reg cigs since March 10th and I feel great about it.

*Until a few couple of weeks ago I NEVER EVEN HEARD OF ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES!*

My daughter and her hubby came to visit and she said I should check into e-cigs as her friends really enjoyed them and quit smoking analogs. I thought "Yeah, right...some kind of gimick thingy". After a few days I remembered that my daughter mentioned this strange thing called e-cigarettes, and for kicks I looked them up online. Found ECF and began to read. The more I read, the more excited I got about the idea of vaping instead of smoking. I watched a couple of video's here of people vaping and I was sure this was something I wanted instead of analogs. Received my e-cig kit a few days later, and I'm HOOKED on them. I mean I absolutely LOVE THEM!!!!!!

Love the taste, and after just a week on them, I'm about done with the nasty analogs.
I still pick up 2 to 4 analogs a day, but put them out after a few drags. It's more a mind game now, with my mind telling me "You SHOULD want a cigarette; light up." But after I do, I don't like it and quickly grab my e-cig.

HERE IS THE STRANGE THING ABOUT HUMAN HABITS: I never smoked in my house or vehicle; always sat in the garage no matter how blazingly hot or freezing cold it was out there, to smoke. Well, LOL, I find myself grabbing my e-cig and going to the garage sofa to vape, even though I do vape in the house. Habits are hard to break indeed.

I started vaping for my husband. He tried to quit smoking a few times but I just couldn't quit. Needless to say it was my fault he kept smoking and I felt really bad about that. He decided to try vaping and even at the counter while he was purchasing his setup, I was very firm I was not about to give up my one and only habit. So the owner of the store gave me a free menthol starter kit to try. When we got out to the car I thought okay I will try this for my husband since he is wanting to quit smoking so bad. I tried it and loved it! I have really bad asthma and since I started vaping I don't have to use my asthma inhaler at all! I had surgery in Feb on my knee and after discussing my vaping with the doc she said my lungs looked really good since I had quit and they sounded so much better! I can breath and it has helped my husband to stop smoking. We have both been analog free since December 2011! :)

I started vaping because I was tired of waking up every morning with a phlegmy cough. Plus i like the flavor better in vaping

Me too! After smoking analogs for 40+ years I knew I must do something to improve my health! Thought I'd start with 12-16 nic range, but that might not be enough of a hit since I still pick up my analogs a couple times a day....so I just ordered some nicotine booster juice to add to my flavors. After about a month of serious vaping now, and trial and error, buying lots of different batts, attys, cartos, etc. I find that I still want that first cig in the morning and I think it's for the nicotine hit. Hopefully, in a few days when I get my new juices, I'll find the perfect vape and quit analogs altogether (at this point I'm still having 2-3 analogs a day). Each day I'm liking my "new habit" more and more:vapor:

This is a great thread!

Thank you.. I saw so much other info. I thought it would be interesting to get others story. Btw my wife and I have been analog free for a year. I found the forum after hearing about it from grim green and steeljan I wish she would have kept her videos up un YouTube I miss hearing her and watching the video's. I watched them 100 times each. Especially the technical ones.

I started vaping primarily because I could no longer stand foul-tasting FSC cigarettes. They left a sour, coppery taste in my mouth and they really felt like they were messing up my lungs. I'm 32 and had smoked for 18 years--hard to believe it was that long! Anyway, I did a bunch of research, got my Provari Mini two days ago, and boom, there you go--no nasty taste, no nasty feeling, and from where I'm sitting right now, I'm sold.
