Why did you quit smoking and start vaping?

My significant other hates smoking, but I had no interest in quitting. I wasn't, however, opposed to healthier alternatives so long as they didn't depart too severely from my beloved rituals.

I wish we could pick more than one answer... I'm still trying to figure out if I took up vaping because of health fears or the cost of cigs. It was kind of 50/50 I think. Cost is kind of redundant now as I've already spent WAY more on e-cigs in 30 days than I would have spent on cigs in oh maybe 6 months 8-o

My favorite supplier is having a sale... I have to go order more stuff now

Mainly because I'm scared to death of it killing me early and my sons being left alone. I had started to notice I was getting out of breath with little effort and smoking was just gross to me... only did it to supply the addiction, wasnt enjoying it... I enjoy vaping and feel so much better!!

Honestly, all of the above. Main reasons were health, smelling like smoke, disgusting taste of cigarette mouth blech!

Honestly I was just sick of the way my Pall Mall 100s were making me smell and how it always tasted like someone took a dump in my mouth after smoking about 5 in the morning with my coffee...

Also I LOVE new gadgets.

Finally I have a friend who had been using them and quit smoking analogs so I figured why not.

I've got my brother loving them... can puff on them while in the lab at work.

Being a smoker in California, well, is rough to say the least.

We are banned, mocked, and *rolles eyes* at more then anyone else.

Now, I'm like the most popular guy at the restaurant

Besides all the other benefits, like I can smell and taste my food!

Im a cheap ........ In Michigan cigs are 6.40 a pack and going up again in 2 months. I smoked over 2 packs a day. Thats around $90 dollars a week. Thats a lot of cash to spend on ecigs and juice! Vaping is way cheaper for me and I get new toys in the mail!

I've been wanting to quit smoking for YEARS and at the same time, I didn't want to ever quit.

I'm afraid of health issues and I hated the way it made me smell.

Now I can have the best part of smoking without the worst parts. I'm a "fiddly" person, so even the disadvantages of vaping (fiddling with my device a lot ) isn't a bad thing!

I thought it`s a cool way to stop smoking, for 10 years I`ve been 1 pack a day smoker, never less... never tried to quit... never thought I`m able to quit...

I did not hesitate spending 150$ on the first device.... I`m glad I did..

Well I never really wanted to quit; I always told my doctor I wanted to want to quit. I did try the Chantix once and NEVER again on that but since I have asthma I needed to do something. Then come e-cigs. I've only reached for my asthma inhaler once in three weeks. Amazing.

Mainly cost. It's funny, but I had no intention of quitting because I like smoking... but I love gadgets more! It's funny but I really enjoy vaping more. Everything I liked about smoking is better and every bad thing about smoking is gone!

I hated having to GO to get cigarettes. Now I get to shop online! They come to me!
There wasn't any taste to cigarettes any more. Now there's flavors!
I hated the smell of smoke on my own hands. Now they smell like soap!
Hated not being able smoke in my car. Now I vape to work!
Hated having to smoke in the small area in my own home. Now I vape everywhere in the house!
I hated the cost. Now I have money left over to buy... More stuff!
I hate that I never knew you could "smell" a smoker just by passing them in the hall. Now, I'm glad it's not me!
I hated the dirt and filth and ashes and butts and dingy clothes and stains (on everything)! Now I love that nobody has anything to b*tch about!
I hated the unfair taxes, alienation, and supporting the tobacco companies. Now I know where my money goes.

And more importantly...
I used to smoke alone or with my friends at work. Now I'm part of a community!
