I have been vaping for a month with a pod kit (voopoo argus air) using pnp coil .8 ohm for MTL. I was smoking for more than 10 years and I want to quit but everytime I vape I feel a tightness on my chest and it induces me to cough. When I am smoking an analog it is so smooth I don't even cough. I really want to quit smoking but with this unpleasant experience on vaping it is hard to leave smoking. My juice is a salt nic with 24mg/ml nicotine strength.

I would first descrease my nicotine if i was you....and if that didn't work I would even try classic nicotine and not salts...

Also I don't know what kind of juice u use with this pod...but for me one juice that have bought was 50/50 vg PG and had a kinda chemical smell to it....it was supposed to be tobacco flavour.... I can't explain the smell but I was coughing only with that juice I bought one time cause everything was closed and it was at a gas station anyways and since then i only buy known and "good" vape juices

Also I increased the vg percentage of my juice cause of used to make my mouth dry.....but I think u need another vape device to use more vg...

Also one time I was coughing again was when I was vaping like a maniac cause I was working and I was also stressed and was hitting it very hard and that vape device I had couldn't keep up...and for some reason that made me cough...and felt that tight chest also...the only time I felt that on my chest....

That's all the times I was coughing with vaping cause since I quit smoking I am not coughing at all...I used to smoke a lot and many things soo I was coughing a lot during the day or when I was waking up...

The coughing could be also be from quiting cigs...for me the first one month or so was very wierd I guess cause of detoxing from tobacco....

That's all I know from my experience hope u figure it out cause cigarettes are the worst....

They say cigs have some chemicals added which suppress irritation in the throat.

It's been a long time, I do remember some coughing when I first started vaping. It went away after a while. Maybe you could get a selection of different juices with different nic levels. Some people are more sensitive to either PG or VG so try different combinations of those. Do you just have the one set of gear? Maybe you could try something different, do you have any friends who vape?

You should stick with it, these problems do tend to get resolved. Good luck.

When I first started vaping, especially during the time I still smoked cigarettes I remember having the same issue. I wouldn't lower the nicotine level because you may be tempted to smoke if you do.

Try to limit the amount of cigs you smoke if you can't stop them entirely. Quitting takes some dedication and perhaps setting a day to do so may help.

If the problem persists after you quit the smokes, the cause could be something else. In order to find out though you'd at least need to rule out what may be the culprit (smoking) first.

It could be nic or the VG or pg or something else.
It may be normal to cough some at first quiting but not what you describe.
May be the salt has that effect,i suggest trying 6mg nic.
Let us know what works to help others too.
I am using a 24mg salt nic with 50vg/50pg ratio I guess. the 1st 2 weeks of me vaping was not a really bad experience but now I can't vape well. I cough everytime I vape. I even change coils every week.

for me I don't think this is because of quitting cigs. I've quitted cigarette before for 1 year with champex and I wasn't having physical withdrawal symptoms. I am also using a 50vg/50pg juice

Nic salts make me cough. I would suggest trying regular e liquid. A lot of them only come in 6 mg but you can find juice with higher nic content. If you were a pack a day smoker maybe try 12 mg.
Yeah that's what I think also. maybe I'll try the regular ones. I smoke almost 2 packs a day before.

Two things; Vaping does not provide the multitude of chemicals known to anaesthetise the cilia located in your bronchial tubes (chemicals suppress the cough reflex).

Also; The composition of your vape is irritating you. This could be down to a multitude of things - for me it was too much air in the vapour. I mouth to lung and if a device is too 'airy' i find that i can cough. Tuning in the airflow worked for me.
For others it could be the flavouring, the amount of PG or VG or too high (or even, too low) a wattage (burning the wick/liquid or improperly vaporised liquid). Also watch out for 'spitting' where the wick is too saturated and sends out burning hot globules right into the back of your throat !
Most people cough when first switching to vaping but this normally goes away after a little perseverance :)
