Why do people think you shouldn't let the atomizer get too hot?

Yep, wet is the definitive word. Keep them wet enough and they won't even glow red. I think that is the key to atty life. Heck, I just hold my button down constantly for 3 or 4 drags, or until I get all the nic I want. I Don't think I burn through as many atties as most on here seem to.

Hey, I tried holding the button down for consecutive drags and that does work really well on my box mod. Not on my 510 pt though--appears to have a cut-off after a few seconds. Thanks for the heads-up, jerrydon.

i've been riding my atty's like an old VW; someone once told me VW's like to be tested and driven hard - that's what I do with the atty's: keep 'em juiced up and make them earn their keep. Only been vaping less than 3 weeks, but still using the same atty I started on: not cleaning it out (blow through it once in a while if it seems sad) don't mess with it much, don't baby it much, and yeah - I let it get pretty hot. Sound o.k.?

So keep them wet, except for when you want to clean them with a dry burn, in which case you want them bone dry and then burn them hot until all the baked on gunk has been burned off?

Hello, is this thing on?

You can (well, I did) burn out an atty doing a dry burn - the 510 wicking/thread (almost certain it isn't fiberglass) that weaves through the metal mesh can get burnt rather than cleaned during a dry burn. Pretty sure the 901 and 801 doesn't have that wicking so it might be a better cleaning technique for them but imo, not the 510.

I think a 'wet burn' on 510 w/a 3.7v mod - iow, using it as you normally would ;-) is a better cleaning technique. I'll 'clean' my Tornado attys by putting them on the Bartleby for a few sessions. And I use both the cart and drip 2 drops on the bridge with the Bart.

Yeah, the Bauway attys burn out very easily. I do dry burns with my regular 510's all the time. Just to burn off the gunk left that's on the coil after regular usage. I clean with water first to get out any juice on them so it's not burning the fresh juice.

I hate it when my atty gets too hot while chain vapeing(say at a wet 5v), it's kind of this warm wet chemical taste. I think you "cook" the liquid.

Yeah I feel like an idiot for just buying a whole bunch of them.

I should have bought some BE901s instead.
