I have to go with newbie error,, (learning curb) more then anything,, I have a couple of atty's now that I just rotate between... use the manual switch and just drip now... I did clean one with warm water and (well lol) just after a week thinking it was completely dead that I ruined it and not trying to use it.. works just fine... Oldest atty's are a month old , and newst are about 2wks and doing well..

Janty KBC's heavy usuage,

and I don't do any cleaning,, just let them rest , and have a better understanding now, in using the liquid..

Following Jim's format

DSE901
Atomizers from My Vapor Store.
Heavy use from early AM until I leave work.
Using auto batteries and auto passthrough.
Using 2 atomizers (1 for warm flavors, 1 for fruity).
No atomizer deaths yet.
Juice: ranges from 6-18mg flavored PG to DIY cut with up to 50% VG with the same 6-18mg range of nicotine.
I take gentle long drags.
Stop when I feel heat from the atomizer, and allow it to cool.
I refill cartridges when I see a decrease on vapor or sense a burnt taste.
Usually bottom fill carts with syringe; top-off when using a syringe isn't feasible.
Blow out and drain nightly.

510-C & 801 with Janty Stick
Atomizers from Widows Beadwork (510) and My Vapor Store (801).
Heavy use from end of work day until bedtime.
Using manual batteries and manual passthrough.
Everything same as for the 901.

4072
Came with my first kit; died in the first week.

If I'm not mistaken, somebody already found the secret to the perpetual atomizer by using Liquid Ice Machine Cleaner. You soak your atty's in it for ten hours once in a while and they will literally last forever. It's the Phosporic Acid content at 75 percent, and the reason Cola baths were working so well for some people. I have a distributor nearby, but haven't picked any up yet.

:thumb:Original NPRO still going after 9 weeks. I now have others in play and don't keep track.
I have only killed one and that was from using my passthrough on a friends car lighter plug without checking it first. Doesn't count.

RN4081/NPRO, M401, 901
Atomizers still going strong.
Atomizers from Ruyan.
Heavy usage.
Using Auto batteries, and Manual Mod and Manual Passthrough.
Haven't gone over 4.5V
Juice (Different Suppliers) 36mg cut with PG.
Some flavor, not alot
I take gentle long drags.
Stop when I feel heat from the atomizer, and allow it to cool.
Refill cartridges when I see a decrease on vapor or sense a burnt taste.
Drip sometimes, usually when I'm impatient or ...... because the 901 doesn't wick from the cart.
I never clean or drain them.

Of the RN4081 Atty:

I've only cleaned the one atty that went out, so far, and I can't swear that the cleaning was what brought it back. But after it was cleaned, twice - it cranked back up and has worked since. That was only after a week. The other(s) has been used for 1-2 weeks, straight and seem to be working fine without additional scrubbing, hosing, blasting or cleaning of any kind.

Coinkydink? Cause and effect? Celestial alignment of the Tetxuan Black Hole in the Dreja Quadrant converging with psycho-coil vibration at this X/Y axis? Dunno....seeking enlightenment....oddly, it didn't look "dirty" when I cleaned it although admittedly I wasn't clear on what I was looking for at the time. There was a tinge of discoloration on the mesh piece, which seemed to lighten after the cleaning

Lets face it unless you have a manual switch battery or pass you cant really burn one out. I have been using this M401 atomizer for 3 months and it just took a dump today. I figured what the heck so I took a paperclip in the battery end and pushed up gently. Tried it again and it is now working 100% again.

You are either lucky and get a good one or unlucky and get a bad one.

I'm unclear on exactly what a good one vs a bad one is, other than one that doesn't work is bad.

I've yet to take my atomizer apart, but I can't really see why or what would make one "not work" other than physical damage to the mesh or sleeve, separating the functional pieces. ??? Soooo....I need more information.

I have been vaping for 2 months and haven't lost one yet. If that didn't jinx me, I don't know what will...

M401s and DSE901s
All automatic batteries, including auto 901 PT
95% on cartridge 5% drip
I only clean the atty if it's nasty, otherwise I just leave it on the e-cig
I rotate between 2-3 e-cigs all day, so the attys never get extremely hot
Attys are from esmokershop, absolutely, bestecig, ecigtech and heavensgifts

And everyone was silent.

It means you might want to consider tossing that atomizer (at least) every two weeks. Clean if you want to, but are you sure it is clean?

There are alot of old threads to be found on this back in the forum should anyone care to look.

Thanks Trog alot of vapers needed to see just what that coil looks like up close. So who wants to brag about how long their atomizer has lasted?

I've never had an atomizer fail in the two months I've been e-smoking. I use both my m401 and DSE 901 with JC smoke juice and Eastmall smoke juice.

For my M401 I soak in 99% iso alcohol for 5 minutes and rinse with hot water once I see small black particulates in my dipping case. I do not drain or maintain the atty in any other way.

The DSE 901 atomizer has never been drained or cleaned since I've bought in (2 months ago); I use the same juices.

I take long slow 'drags' with both devices and take extra care to not flood the atomizer. When I want to change flavors I simply use short quick 'drags' until I see the smoke thinning sufficiently before dripping(901) or dipping (401).

All hardware is from ruyan direct.

Edit: I should add that I use 18mg juice and use roughly 0.7ml per day.

So 3 weeks on this atomizer (901) producing HUGE vapor run at up to 4.1v volts. Cleaned once a week, IPA and rinsed with water. Thought it was clean and working perfectly... until I pluged it into a DIY Passthrough I whipped up tonight. 5.02v
First drag - monster vapor
Second drag- Mushroom cloud (this is great)
Third drag - POP....:(

So then came the autopsy.
Looks exactly like what Trog posted.

With 387 pages of cleaning theory posted, I am thinking that if you get 3 weeks of good performance from a $6 atomizer, you should thank it and respectfully allow it to commence it's miniature flaming Viking funeral at will without any harsh feelings.

Just saying...
