Why do some people continue to buy premade coils and juice?
Because they haven't thought about what's coming, as in the US FDA regulations, the EU's TPD, and the taxes that seem inevitable as well.

For me, making my own has nothing to do with money at the present time. It's all about not having the stress of wondering whether I'll be able to get a decent vape in the future, and a stubborn unwillingness to give the ruling class one more penny in "sin taxes".

A little late to the party here, but I still buy premade because between work and my daughter, I am lucky to get an hour to myself a day, and I would rather spend that hour with my wife than making coils and mixing juice. I have built coils, which was a pain in a t3s head, but it's more time friendly for me to buy premades.

I've been vaping for 2 years, and still use commercial coils/juice exclusively. I'm mechanically inclined enough, but I'm too shaky for the small parts in rebuilding.
DIY juice may become an option somewhere down the road, just for fun, but my storage space is limited.
Given what I used to spend on cigarettes (even RYO) the amount of money I spend on vaping is STILL a bargain

I wish I could say this but all my vape gear is in my Mom's basement near all my video games so I have plenty of time. I haven't seen the sun in 30 years. :(
That cracked me up. Note to self....bypass Reigns posts when drinking coffee.

ROFL!!!

My meaningful life with my husband involves doing what I can to a) stay alive, and b) Save money, so that my meaningful life is actually worth living. So I make my own coils (5-10 minutes, once a month or so) and my own ejuice (no dangerous chemicals involved, takes about 30 minutes a month).

I would dearly love to be rich enough to not worry about saving money, but I haven't won the lottery yet, and my husband is still a blue-collar wage slave.

Because I don't really have the patience to build coils and because pre-made liquids are actually tastier and/or because one trusts the manufacturer regarding the manufacturing process. Have I gone DIY in the past? I have. Was I satisfied? Not enough.

And then, there are also the NET juices. One can make NETs alright, but it takes so much work, time and patience. Plus, you can't filter the NETs at home as they do at the House of Liquid, for instance. And I don't remember reading any recipes for NETs. In fact, even if there are loads of recipes around, there aren't recipes for all of my preferred juices, some of which aren't amongs everybody's favourites.

I may go DIY if the cost of vaping becomes unbearable and if I can still get nicotine at acceptable prices.

I just wanna know why every coil in every topper I have decides to go belly up at the same time.

Because you replace them all at the same time and use them equally. Start staggering them out a bit. Or keep one to the side for when you 'know' the rest will go belly up :D

Yeah, I have to say, if I was still vaping strictly tobacco flavors, I'm sure I'd still be buying ejuice; when I learned about all this crap with the gov't, I got really nervous about whether my Virginia would still be available when all was said and done. Maybe that was one factor in my eagerness to branch out and try other flavors, though mostly it was just that the longer I went without smoking tobacco, the less palatable the flavor became. Once I was completely off tobacco flavor, the idea of DIY became a lot more sensible for me.

Since I've been vaping strictly DIY, I've made a couple of juices that have tobacco notes, but it's a very different sort of tobacco flavor from the flavor of my cigarettes, Virginia tobacco -- nowadays the only tobacco flavors I can tolerate at all are the very sweet ones, mostly drowned in a mix with chocolate, coffee, or other rich flavors. To me it's actually a kind of "insurance," because with my distaste for the flavor of real tobacco, comes the likelihood that I would not be able to tolerate the taste of a cigarette AT ALL. And since I'm not 13 with a burning desire to be "cool," very little motivation to keep tasting something I find offensive. ;)

I guess everyone new starts out doing it. Once you start making your own this hobby costs next to nothing.

I couldn't imagine paying $15 for 30ml of juice again that often tastes like garbage.
Why are you still buying prepackaged meats and veggies when it's so much cheaper to just kill and grow your own?

Why do some people continue to buy premade coils and juice?

Because the last time I tried a DIY fix was back in the 80's, I was a working at a Russian nuclear plant and 30 people died and 350,000 had to move. Duct tape, for all it's amazing uses, shouldn't be used to hold a reactor together. I found that out the hard way. When they asked us all who was responsible for this horrific tragedy, I was able to look up at the sky and whistle, throwing off any suspicions from me. (Luckily, that tactic still works in Russia. It probably didn't hurt that me and the other guys all took a step back, making it look like our friend Vlad stepped forward, therefore taking responsibility. I still get letters from the Gulag telling me he is going to kill me if he ever gets out. I don't know why he's so angry. He's a tattoo guy so I would think prison would be good for him since they tattoo themselves all the time. I'm not a tattoo guy and wouldn't have fared well in prison)
