Why do you vape?

I like to think I hung up trying to be a cool kid when I was no longer a kid so, no -- that's not it. I'm another one vaping to save money, hoping one day to see that reality but, meanwhile, enjoying the bejeezus out of my new hobby and the flavor of the juices. If anyone had said a year ago that I'd be smoking 3 analogues a day and planning on cutting that down to 0, I'd have taken them straight to the looney bin. Yet, here I am ................

Definitely not for saving money LOL! I used to roll my cigarettes anyways so I think it was something like 85Cents a per pack or something in that area. That and vaping very quickly, for many of us, turns into a hobby so the money thing is kind of out of the picture lol.

I realized I was going to potentially ruin my life. That and as much as you don't want to admit it, smoking makes you smell horrid - it ruins your sense of taste and smell and burn marks in all of your clothes/car seats definitely isn't a good look for anyone.

I vape because I don't want to smoke anymore. It's not that I have a particular problem with having an addiction to nicotine. I just don't want to put the some 6000 other chemicals into my body. Plus they taste better. I'm rockin' Waffles at the moment. I have coffee as well somewhere. I'll alternate the two and call it "breakfast."

I started vaping because I heard it could help people to stop smoking. Well, rather than being an ongoing process where you do both for awhile, it helped me to stop smoking on the first day (I wasn't really prepared for that!). I've completely given it up. I think I'm one of those people I've read about who have "accidentally quit." Now I have all this e-liquid to do something with. So I plan to use it all up and from then on, not inhale anything but oxygen.

At first, vaping for me was a curiosity thing, wanted to know what the big fuss was about. Then I went to 18 mg nicotine and thought "Hey, I could quit dipping with this stuff!" Haven't had a dip since like January, but still get my nic fix with vaping (and snus). Plus the flavors to try are intriguing and my MVP 3 and Subtank mini (filled with 6 mg juice) are rocking my world right now! That is all.

I don't give a rip about the cost, looking cool (go ahead, laugh), chasing clouds, any of that. Quite simply, to quit smoking and increase my chances of waking up each and every morning so I can say "good morning" to my wife.

(OlderNDirt shows wife post in hopes of gaining brownie points. Didn't work, but did generate a chuckle.)

To be quit from analog cigs. After my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes just over 2 years ago, her doc said even smoking in the garage (it's attached to the house) is extremely harmful and the smoke remnants still enter into the house and would pretty much give her 100% chance of kidney issues. That's it. Done with the nasty crap.

He's the #6 rated children's diabetes research doctors in the world and upon asking about vaping vs analogs, he was full on board citing he knew of no consequences to her that would come from vaping, though he did suggest not vaping in the car when she was inside just to be safe.

Now, it's more about flavor and gear experimentation than it is nicotine, I've ramped my nic level down and plan to keep dropping to zero.

I first started vaping cause I wanted to stop smoking but my first vape was a blu e cig and it cost more to smoke that than regular cigs so I went back to smoking cigarettes. Then recently sometime during the end of last year my heart started to hurt randomly and I was barely able to breath so I knew it was time to stop cause I was scared that something will happen to me. I then got my first real set up at the end of December and I haven't touched a cigarette since and my heart doesn't randomly hurt anymore. I now barely crave to smoke and it's been great.

I started to quit smoking with the intention of lowering the nicotine and eventually stopping Vaping as well. I run a pretty basic set up so Vaping doesn't cost me too much so I'm saving around £200 a month. I still smoke the occasional Cuban Cigar but I consider that as a hobby and don't associate it with addiction. Same thing with Vaping, as I stick to the fruit or mint flavours I've managed to disassociate Vaping from smoking and now it's a hobby and have no intention of giving it up.
