Why does the Provari hit differently than the eVic?

Everyone said that the Provari hits better than the eVic, but I couldn't imagine it was true. It's just delivering voltage, and I wasn't gonna go past 5V anyway. So I ordered the eVic. And it was good.

Then I got a Provari.

What can I say? Subjectively, the Provari does seem to vape better.

I miss some of the features and the light weight of the eVic, but I find myself leaving it home.

I'm still mystified, though. Why does the Provari vape better? What is it actually doing differently?

Besides having a reason to justify good customer support...you are really dealing with TH addicts.
That is all it affects, and from what I've gathered, not that much. Make up for the other PV's "crappy modulation" with juice ratios.

And please save the "if I were to's".
Christ men...you are energizing a piece of metal wire to get you to stop smoking butts. The level some go to on here, I'd swear they never had anything else in their lives go on.

Although, that Oscillo. comparison is nice to see.

The vast world of vaping and tinkering with juices, mods and delivery systems is a bit addicting. It becomes kind of a hobby of sorts! So far I've drawn the line at mechanical mods, RBA's and DIY liquids. Not going there. Yet, at least. LOL

Simple explanation?

Provari uses PWM as well (with a much lower duty cycle than a Vamo) but it puts that output through a linear filter that changes the pulses to a flatter and more accurate line.

In short, if you input 4.2 volts thats what you get, not some composite average of burnt juice and low voltage.

Thats like taking a bite of well done steak and then a bite of rare steak to arrive at medium.

Scientifically, it works but I bet whoever designed that particular system cant cook worth a damn.

There is a difference..have both..like both.... use both

Its noticeable... Is it going to affect your ability to get a good vape?..nope..The "lecture" aside... If you want to bury your head in the sand.. take your ball and go home..that's fine.. doesn't change the fact..

The OPs question/inquiry is legit...next question.. Is it important to you or not?

EDIT; Sorry everyone for being a bit of a *rick here put the post I was responding just rubbed me the wrong way..

Two words.

Linear Filter

weren't we talking about PV's. where did that filter came from?
posted to early. i just read your post. but can't this linear filter be added to the other PVs too. why is this so difficult. does provari manufacturer has some secret knowledge nobody else does?

Not at all.

If I had to hazard a guess it would come down to price.

Chinese knockoffs arent concerned with matching a products performance as much as its looks and offering it for cheaper.

As to my mention of the linear filter, the Op was asking why the Provari hits differently than an Evic.

The Evic has a LOT going on, maybe the linear filter will be addressed in a future update or was left out to make room for everything else.

Converts the red line into the blue line.

(That isn't a Provari's signal, but it's similar in design.)

The linear filter that Zapped talked about sounds like he is referring to the Accuset Technology that Provape uses for the Provari. It is a patented chip that the microprocessor in the Provari uses. It allows the Provari to provide precisely the voltage output by continuously monitoring both the atomizer resistance and the dropping voltage of the battery and adjusting itself appropriately. Hense the phrase, "what you set, you get, every time" from the beginning of a freshly charged battery until it needs replaced.

The one thing I gave credit to. The Oscilloscope readings. That was nice, as I do favor the intricate side of this.
I'm sure the provari gives a nice blast, but what I mean is, where I have my juice and setups...I think I'd choke if anything got "better".
Meaning, that the PV's that come out later than sooner, aren't always pure crap.
I DO understand the " you get what you pay for" stance, as it is true. So I do respect them.
Maybe they'll drop in price someday? How long have they been that much?

its kind of like cars, they all do the same thing, get you from point A to point B but higher end cars with better materials cost more because of the build quality. provari is like the lambo/ferrari of VV.

At low power I cannot tell a difference between the two. Under heavier loads the eVic stock Li-ion battery drops off but that's easily remedied by throwing an AW IMR. Just this evening I did my first 28ga on a genny, ran them both on the Provari and the eVic ... different response qualities, but the vape is no different. Of course the eVic won't play ball above 11 watts, so limitations most certainly exist.

It allows the Provari to provide precisely the voltage output by continuously monitoring both the atomizer resistance and the dropping voltage of the battery and adjusting itself appropriately.
The eVic does that in VW mode. I mean how much dropping of resistance and voltage can occur during a single 6 second vape? The smallest changes show up right on the screen almost the same instance they happen, and the eVic adjusts. VW adjustments are far more incremental than those of VV devices.

Hense the phrase, "what you set, you get, every time" from the beginning of a freshly charged battery until it needs replaced.
And how is that any different from the eVic? I can't tell right down to the last vape before the battery packs it in.

I have 2 eVics and a Provari. If the eVic didn't measure up, I'd never mention anything in favor of it. I'm happy I have both, as they serve different aspects of my vaping requirements throughout my day.
