I was wondering this today. I'm not an electrician or nothing so don't really get it. Is there a reason why cig-alikes are so low on volts. When i used to use one the battery would last an hour or so. But i'm not talking about the mah just the volts. Wouldn't a cig-alike be a lot better if they were more powerful in the volts department ?. Imagine a cig-alike with 4.3 v with a tiny not so clear clearo such as a t3. I mean the design could still look like a ciggy right !. Or am i barking up the wrong tree !.

I wouldn't say "can't be done"! I'd say it hasn't been done *yet*! But like everything electronic things keep getting smaller, cheaper and more powerful.

See that's why i posted this. I was thinking that even if a small cigalike battery did produce say 4.3v it would last maybe 20-30 minutes. Which would be fine. just get a handful. Little devices like that are handy when you're on the road. Maybe a vv cigalike would be possible then ?.

I don't see why not. I personally don't like cig-a-likes because in the end they don't return on the investment as well as a "real" e-cigarette. On the road? If I didn't want to use up my battery I would invest in a cheap USB passthrough with a tank and a cigarette lighter adapter.

I fully expect VW twists and spinners in the near future, I don't see any technical reason why they wouldn't work (at least for a short time) on a cigalike style batt too...

Think about cell phones. When they first came out in the 70's they had huge batteries. Now the batteries are tiny by comparison. So i've no doubt there's plenty of development for the ecig in the future.

The cheap 510 sticks from mad vapes come off the charger around 4.2 volts....

That's exactly why I love my eGo so much. Regulated at 3.3 volts so the battery lasts a bit longer and almost every puff is the same as the last. I can't stand having the battery get slowly weaker as it discharges. Just throw a 1.5-2.0 on it and you're good for a backup device!
