Youre in California, it should be obvious. They have led the charge across the entire country for non-smoking. They were also several years ahead of other states so predate electronic cigarettes unlike other states like Va and NC that have traditionally always been smoking states and are just now experiencing bans themselves.

I've been vaping for not even 10 days yet, and I'm already tired of the attention my lavatube gets. You have to go through the same conversation with every person who sees it, because nobody has ever seen one before.

I suspect that a lot of people who use these things don't make it too public, for that reason alone.

Also, there are the ones who think it looks like something else...

On the other hand, I don't think I'm going to be the only one for long -- several friends and coworkers are already looking to get their own.

I know what you mean!! I live in Toronto which is also quite a large City and I had not even thought about E ciggies until my Son visited from UK with one, but about a week ago I walked passed a bar and thought a guy was smoking there  I now realise that it was an e ciggie and me and "Himself" have purchased a kit today so hope we can get on board and be ex smokers and long time Vapers!! :)

Wow! Though it is strange to feel like a lone vaper in Los Angeles, knowing that you all are out there makes me feel gobs better! ZoiDman and zapped scare the dickens out of me, though. I'll be just dashed if there are bans in the works. I do vape on though, despite the ignorant scowls of strangers. I do think that many think it's something far less innocent I'm smoking. Using the only pvs that cut it for me -- my strange little reo, or my Vamo in 1860 mode probably doesn't help.... Still loving this forum -- amongst friends!!

It's because most of us are vape ninjas, stealthy and only seen when we want to be haha. But seriously, I have about three friends that vape here in Idaho. I do it openly and feel that if I can educate people about them, we can stop the dirty looks. I.E druggy references. And I also urge everyone who hasn't posted on the FDA website to do so. Oh, and vape on people :toast:

I can pretty much guarantee that I will be the only person on the island I live in with a competent e-cig. And there are like 60k people on this island.

But you won't be the first to vape a competent ecig in St Kitts :D I did get a lot of friendly questions about my APV's when I was vaping there last year :)

The percentage of smokers that have switched to vaping anywhere is still pretty small. Lots of reasons for this unfortunately :( People that don't want to stop smoking, those that have tried vaping and weren't happy with what they tried for one reason or another, its easier to smoke then to vape, a lack of local stores to purchase from as lots of people want to see it in person before purchasing, and then there's always the FDA's push to tell people how dangerous vaping is

Sorry if I scared you. It wasn't really my intent. But things are in the works that Anyone who uses an e-Cigarette should know about.

Sometimes I'm a little troubled when I scan Page after Page of New Threads about the merits of this Carto or the virtues of the "Latest" vvpv. Thousands and Thousands of posts about this and that. I wonder sometimes how many of the people posting realize that the Landscape of Vapng is about to Change?

And whereas Change can many times be a Good Thing, this time, I don't think Most vapers are going to see it that way.

Maybe where you live it will.

But I think here in the USA, 2013 will be known as "The year of the Regulations".

You are correct
and I don't want to scare anybody or come off like an alarmist but my best buddy who works for homeland security said he is now required to carry fifty nylon strap handcuffs in his personal vehicle, be armed at all times, and him and his fellow agents have all been sent for class 3 licenses to drive the big buses. He said they are preparing for "The Mass Rallies". This is the year, you "Voted for change" you're getting it.

I was standing on a dead game a few nights ago and saw a guy walking by with a Provari mini and called him over. I asked him can I check out your set up? He was shocked I knew what a Provari was and I told him mine was being shipped. :) we talked for a few minutes and found instant comraderie :)

I’m not exactly sure how much Homeland Security will be needed to quell Mass Rallies of Vaper’s who see their e-Liquid supply Drastically Changed?

But I could envision Large Angry Armed Mobs of Citizens who feel there 2nd Amendment Rights are going to be changed. But I think that is a topic best left for another thread.

I had no idea vapes existed up until about 2 weeks ago. I had tried the little disposable e-cigs you get from the local smoke shops, but had never seen actual PV's. However, I was on a greyhound bus heading home from MSU campus and the guy in front of me was enjoying his PV and I was intrigued. A few short days later, I decided I wanted to give it a shot and here I am. So apparently, vaper's exist around here, but he is the only one I have ever encountered thus far.
