Why don't I love my Ego? Am I doing something wrong? :(

First of all, the positive - - - I ordered my Joye eGo from Liberty Flights on Friday afternoon, and by Friday evening, I had shipping confirmation. It was IN MY MAILBOX on Monday morning! Two thumbs up for basically awesome shipping!! :)

So, I have been familiarizing myself with it the last couple of days, and sadly, I am finding that I am sort of disappointed in it so far. :( Which is NOT what I expected. I mean, I was like GIDDY with excitement when I hit the submit button to order it, and totally thought for sure that the eGo was going to be my holy grail of vaping...as I have still been "double dipping" with analogs the last couple of months. I started out with my V2 starter kit, which is the KR808, and I really DO love them, but I figured that with all of the eGo hype, that I might be missing out on something. So, I ordered. ;)

My complaints? It seems to pale in comparison to my V2 as far as throat hit and vapor production. :( I really have to suck hard to get anything out of my eGo, and I have tried cartomizers, direct dripping ( which I have decided I do NOT like...total pain in the ....... ) and the new Mega carto for the eGo...still, not getting the effect that I had so hoped that I would. Sure, the battery life so far is fabulous, but I really thought there'd be more to it. I thought I would fall hopelessly in love with my eGo, but here I am finding that my V2's seem to be what I am relying on for satisfaction.

Any thoughts? Any tips? Do I need to loosen or alter anything or something? Am I in the dark on some huge tip that will change my mind drastically about my eGo? If not, then I am going to have to wrestle with whether I intend to ship it back or keep it solely based on battery life, rather than performance.

Thanks a billion for any advice you may have!!

You shouldn't need to suck hard on them at all! Are you overfilling the cartos? I've also found that if you try to screw the carto on too tightly, that can decrease airflow and make it hard to vape. My own general rule is if I can just sip on the tip like sipping on a wine glass and great vapor, it's done right. If I have to suck like it's a thick milkshake through a straw, then I've done something wrong.

Yes, I "sip" mine too. I very loosely put my lips against the end and inhale gently so that some of the outside air mixes in (just a TAD, not a lot)

I wonder if they make an adapter so you can use your eGo battery with your V2 stuff? (I know that they make adapters for a lot of models, just not familiar with the V2 or what it's compatible with)

They make a 510 to 901 adapter that will fit your KR808 atty's and carto's so that way you could use your eGo batts. Also like basilray stated, from what I hear the LR atty's are where it is at with 3.7V devices. Really brings out the vapor/flavor alot more. I wouldn't give up on it yet, you just need to find your sweet spot with it yet, just takes a little trial an error. You will get there.

Good luck!

I'm in a similar situation.

Went from a 510 to an eGo, and for months, I loved it.

However, during those months, I also switched between the eGo and analogs.

I'm now trying to only vap... I've not had an analog for two days. What that means is, my vaping has gone up dramatically.

Lately, I find that the batteries on my eGo stop producing much vaper in about a couple of hours. In the past, my eGo could last most of the day... so...

I'm not sure if my batteries are giving out, after five, six months, or it's simply that I'm vaping MUCH more then in the past, but I also don't get strong throat hit unless I take very long drags....

By the way, I'm dripping, and using a Low Res 510 cart.

Have you thought about a bottom feed device, such as the Ali'i, or REO? More powerful battery, so it should give much stronger hits, battery life should be good for all day and you don't need to deal with dripping.

They are, however, much more expensive, but it's a one time expense. If you're sure you're sticking with vaping, it may be worth looking into (YouTube either REO or Ali'i Mod)

Good luck!

I thought I read that the LR atty's will zap out your batteries quicker than the regular 510 atty's. Maybe thats what's going on there.

What exactly is a LR atty? I am sort of still in the learning process...surprised I know what I do! LOL! And most of what I have learned, I have learned by watching MistressNomad's videos!! :)

LR atty is a low resistant atomizer.

By having low resistance, you get a stronger throat hit, but you also probably get shorter life for the atomizer (atty), and deplete the batteries quicker.

Serach LR Atty on Google, and you can find numerous places that sell LR Attys.

The following thread link explains why some people who like the kr808 equipment won't like an eGo; http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/joye-510/65055-battery-voltages-surprise.html Pay special attention to posts #1 & #18.

esjam, your best bet is to pick up A) some low res atomizers, B) some low res 510 cartomizers or C) the premium carts from Vapor4Life and an adapter. The V4L premiums are technically low res 808s, others may carry them but I don't know of them. Regular 808s and an adapter might also work for you, not sure.

Could be, but what puzzels me is everyone raves about how the throat hit and vap production on the eGo battery is constant... that it remains great, until the very end, when the battery stops completely!

I haven't been experiencing that. My eGo works great for two, maybe two and a half hours, then no throat hit/vaper.

I have an Ali'i on order, hope to get it in a week or so, so I don't think I want to spend more $$$ on new eGo batteries. Guess I'll have to make due for now.

I wish I had an answer for that, mine works great all day (or until I use up the battery) especially as compared with my 510 - I could always tell when it was about to die because the vapor dropped off, with my eGo I can't tell until the light starts flashing.
