I have seen a few in the city (SF) where I work but far more smokers than vapers in the public eye there.
I have had people pass me when I was vaping on the sidewalk, and (fake) cough loudly the same as they would do to a smoker.
Kind of struck me funny at the time while bringing the reality of media programming of the populace home.
I think many people don't realize what they are actually seeing is 'vapor', and NOT smoke. They are believing what they are told to believe, and casting the vaper in the same light as they have been brainwashed to cast the smoker.
I also believe this is the driving force behind legislation to place vapers in the same areas as smokers, and why it may get the uninformed vote of the sheeple.
It does 'look' a lot like smoking to most uninformed people. I can't blame those that vape from feeling a bit of this public pressure, and keeping it on the 'down low' to avoid confrontation although I think they shouldn't be ashamed of it.
Personally I want to educate those that don't know what they are seeing, and I do, and will continue to vape in public.
It has gotten me to quit smoking. That right there is HUGE!
It needs to become commonplace so that those that don't know about it can learn rather than continue to be spoon fed by politicians, and media into believing it's something that it is not.
