For one: I have to do this (and I understand why..kinda but it still clutters everything up) 5 times before I can do anything else.
Two: at least 95% of responses are more insulting, bragging, than helpful(because anyone who wants to be helpful has skipped my noob post after reading 10000of them)....
I'm just a guy who quit smokin, an artist who likes the idea of building mods. I got the ascetics. Just not the mechanics. I do build musical instruments that could be a trade/tip for useful info. And by that I mean really good info.

I didn't skip it. And, if you don't want to start a thread, you can post here on other threads. Good reason for the 5 post requirement as i'm sure you understand. But, just welcome some other new comers to the Forum five times and you're all done, just as I'm doing, and have done many times. Welcome to the Forum, good luck on your VapeQuest, suggest you make your title's a bit more inviting, you'll see that ECF is not only the best vaper's forum, but one of the best forum's anywhere. Give it a chance. Some very nice folks here, who are happy to help in any way they can. Best to you!

Welcome to ECF, and congrats on making the switch!

I suggest you leave your preconceived notions at the door.

Best of luck!

I'm new to this site as well. Fourth post. I work at a local vape shop and hope to learn even more about vaping and the vaping community from these forums. Looks like there is a lot of info here.

Which shop?

Yeah dude, you don't have to start new threads, You just have to post 5 times. They could all be replies. If you're not interested in replying to threads, why would it matter which forum sections you aren't replying in? The new user forum is one of the most popular on the site. Everyone comes in here. The post limit is to prevent spammers from running wild, so when you have said hi to everyone, and move into other parts of the forum, you don't have to worry as much about a bunch of spammy BS getting in the way. As to your other concerns about forums, you can still read the other parts of the forum, just not reply. You can always lurk to find out if this community strikes you as the type you described. I feel no need to defend the community, as it is one of the better moderated forums I've been on, especially when you consider the population.

Welcome to ECF. It may seem silly to you to have a 5 post rule, but it does give you a chance to introduce yourself to others on the forum and for you to get a little feedback from other members. A lot of people use their first 5 posts to tell us what they are using or to ask questions about what type of setup will meet their needs. It is time well spent, if you choose to use it that way.

You will find that there are many other artists and musicians here on ECF. I know several. You will soon have your 5 posts and can go off and explore and post where your interests lie.

Actually, quite a few vets keep an eye on this sub-forum since it's one of the most active for questions. In fact, sometimes you have better luck getting answers here than anywhere else.

Zeus you might want to look around in the rules or contact a Mod. There used to be a rule that individuals who worked for suppliers had to sign up under the supplier associate tag, but that was before brick and mortar shops started popping up all over the place and it might have changed.

He should be fine unless he directly tries to promote them/their products without properly registering. It makes me question whether or not he can tell me which shop he works at though...

Doghead, don't be so negative about posting to this forum 5 times before you can post in others. Others above have explained the necessity of this rule. I did it, along with everyone else. ECF is full of people who are knowledgeable and are more than willing to help with questions, whether from noobs or vets. I credit ECF members for the support they have given me, especially when I really, really, really wanted to light up during my first couple of weeks of not smoking. Vaping has changed my life and I thank ECF everyday. So, post away! And keep on vaping!

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water...so to speak.
Welcome anyway. Just in case you are not aware, ECF is the largest forum for the vaping community. Yes, there might be a couple of members that bite, but they are usually provoked, or just plain jerks. Give it a chance.
Do you vape? If so, tell us what type of gear you have and before you know it, your restriction of 5 post rule will be gone.

:)

That's pretty insulting. And inaccurate. I don't mean to brag but my insult ratio is about 65%, sometimes 66% but never above. Once you hit 100 posts, you can track how helpful, insulting, funny or asinine your posts are.

You’re not the first that’s had to make five posts here. A few ECF stats:

Threads 391,180
Posts 10,259,071
Members 160,250
Active Members 21,444

I do remember you from the other night. Quit making life so hard on yourself. But I see you’ve somehow made it to six (undeleted) posts now so all you have to do is wait for the computer to update and you’re out of the newbie pen.

Welcome to ECF Happy Camper!

I didn't get 10,000 posts skipping new member's questions, although I don't respond if the questions are outside of what I'm knowledgeable about. I think if you pay a bit more attention you will find 95% of the members sincerely want to help you stay off of tobacco. Based on their own journeys they may not agree on the best route you should take, but that's where your critical thinking skills should kick in. It's true that some folks go into too much detail about electrical theory for the average vaper, but there aren't that many of them.

Posting questions in the new members forum isn't a bad idea, this section gets more traffic. By the way, did you have a question?

I hope you have some fun on the forum.

:thumb: Many of the ECF veterans have a passion to help new vapors and hang out in the New Members Forum specifically to help them get a good start based on our knowledge and experience.

Vash, you have earned the attention of the Provarinati "Eye That Sees All".
