My only gripe with the joyetech Twist is that I can't read the dang voltage dial. Beyond that, they have performed flawlessly. I replaced them with a YJ Lavatube and gave the Twists to my wife and they are still working fine.

Too much Gandy is making you go blind, Bronze! LOL

I've never had a Joyetech battery fail on me, some have died after leading long and fruitful lives - old school 510 manual batteries - but even some of those are still alive after almost 4 years. I think the only Joyetech batteries I've ever had any problems with at all were the ones that I took swimming, and I'm pretty sure that doesn't count!

I'm really curious what wires the original poster is talking about. I have two Ego Twist and has been working great. It is a closed unit, you have the twisty thing at one end, and the battery connection at the other end. I don't see any wires!

someone please enlighten me so I will be more aware of this issue. Unless you are taking the thing apart and modding it?

Well, I might as well add that my two ego twists(real ones lol) have been perfect for the 4 or 5 months that I've had them. The only complaint seems to be that its hard to read the numbers on the dial- I agree, but if you get it at the right angle, you can make it out lol.

Yes, the right angle and a truck-mounted floodlight! :D

Had my genuine 1100mah twist for about 3 months and used as a work horse everyday. The only problem I had was it going from a 2.5h charge to a 5h charge but that only happened when I didn't know about cleaning the contacts which I now do every night before charging.
Mine has even been dropped down the stairs and onto a supermarket floor with no ill effects.

I have bi-focals. Still need a truck-mounted flood light.

I thought Ben had the bifocals ... aren't you the dude with the wooden dentures?

Seriously, I'm sure the tiny numbers and tick marks are a PITA for some folks. I personally have no problems, but I've worked with tiny stuff all my life so I'm used to it. IMHO, the dinky numbers were an aesthetic design decision ... bigger numbers means a bigger band, and additional length to what is already a rather imposing profile—especially in the case of the 1000mAh model, which I use exclusively. As you say of Gandy ... vape it 'til you like it!

Actually, my dentures were made of ivory. The wooden ones were too scary. The only way I could read those little numbers and hash marks was to get it under a bright light. I mean, a real bright light. I kept an led flashlight nearby and draped the dial in led light so I could see it. While I liked the Twists, I'd be lying if I said that didn't bug me. I was one of those old, blind blokes who would of happily added a sixteenth to the overall length for the added benefit of knowing what the frick voltage I was vaping at. :)

I'm with ya Bronze and my eyes are fine. ;)

I remember growing up and watching my grandma squinting her eyes anytime she wanted to look at something small. She'd look up, look down, move her eyes all around her sockets, get it under a light, get a magnifier out, feel it, etc.. I used to laugh my head off. Now I'm doing it. :D

I hope you know I was teasing  I have regular reading glasses, but I also have much stronger ones (3.?) I couldn't possibly read with, but use for fine needle work. I can see the dial with those, but you're right, there does need to be light. I read a post where someone said they had used very tiny (like a toothpick tip) of nail polish to mark the levels, but they didn't post a picture, so I'm not sure how good it would look.

I know you were teasing Ocelot. I tried marking it with a sharpie (knowing it wouldn't last) but my hand isn't steady anymore either so that had limited value. My mark looked more like a range instead of a point if you know what I mean. :) I put an end to all that by getting a Lavatube. I laugh cuz I saw Busardo do a review on it and his only complaint was that he thought the led screen was a little hard to read. It looks like a billboard to me!
