I originally started with a Blu vaporizer after having major spinal surgery (a 13 hour procedure, 2 weeks in the hospital, meningitis, a picc line, and IV antibiotics every 8 hours for 3 weeks). I was told before my surgery to quit smoking, and smoked up until midnight the night before my procedure. I didn't smoke at all for the 2 weeks in the hospital, and managed to hold out for the 3 weeks after I got home. However, I picked it up again "here and there" and before I knew was pack to a pack every other day, sometimes a pack a day.

My husband begged me to try an electronic cigarette if I was going to continue smoking, because as I'm sure most are well aware, smoking can seriously impede the body's ability to heal, and even cause a failed procedure, which neither of us wanted. So he bought me the Blu started pack. I liked the idea of it, but it sucked. Inconsistent vapor. Poor battery life. A whole host of reasons actually.

That's when I went to an actuall vape store and bought a "starter kit" - an eleaf iStick Mini with a Nautalus mini. I started at 18mg's of nicotine and found it a bit strong so I went down to 12. I'm now facing more surgery and today I'm cigarette free for one month.

I have no desire to make huge clouds. I have no desire to build my own coils, or build anything really. I have no desire to own a 150 watt device. Infact, I prefer just the variable voltage only devices (simpler for my noobish ways). I'm more of a flavor chaser that requires the nicotine to keep me from craving a cig. With a great flavor and the right nicotine content I've stayed away from cigarettes for a month.

I'm not really sure what sub ohming is, or what it does. I use the 1.8ohm BVC coils in my Nauty mini and am happy with them.

All I wanted is a long battery life, the ability to adjust voltage to get the best tasting vape, and for it to be consistent right down to the last drop of battery power.

I'm pretty sure I'm a mouth to lung inhaler. Maybe direct lung? I like a decent throat hit to remind me of the cigs.

So by all accounts that makes me a tootle puffer? What is wrong with that? IS there something wrong with it? I can't tell if it's a term of endearment or a derogatory term.

If it's the latter, quite frankly I don't care. I'm doing what works for me. My tastes may evolve as I become more experienced and branch out and try different devices and methods. I'm interested in dripping as I've heard the flavor is great, but I don't care about the amount of vapor.

So what category does this drop me into? Not that it really matters. My local vape shop is very good to me and has never made a comment one way or another, nor have any of the customers we've hung out with.

So... is tootle puffing a term of endearment, or a derogatory term used for those of us not into big clouds and building our own gear?

There's nothing wrong with being a Tootle Puffer. It is both a term of endearment and an insult, depending on who is saying it. AFAIK it began as a derogatory term by those who like high-powered vaping but like many other derogatory language aimed at different groups over time, has been somewhat reclaimed as a matter of pride. I certainly have no shame in being a part-time Tootle Puffer.

The most important thing is to do what works for YOU.

1: Congrats on the switch to vape.
2: No there is nothing wrong with tootle puffer.
3: Whether it's a term of endearment, a derogatory term, or otherwise, really depends on who is saying it.
4: HA! You Do care! That's why you wrote 11 paragraphs about it!

*The* most important thing about vaping, what *really* matters?

Keeping you off cigarettes. That's what counts. :)

I have been on E-Gos for more than four years. And I was happy with it.

Then, came the menace of the new European TPD.

So, I started playing with durable mechs and rebuildable atomizers with *one* thing in mind: being free from the factory-made atomizers and batteries that are being threatened even today.

Today, I like my setups more than I use to like the E-Go. But that was an accident. I made the switch to new hardware *not* because I was dissapointed with the old one, but because I was afraid of having the old one taken away from me.

If it was not for the TPD's menace, I believe I would still be happily puffing away on an E-Go. :)

Congratulations on getting off the stinkies! That's something to be proud of, no matter how you vape or what your setup is. We're all different and what works for someone else might not work for you. The important thing is that you took the initiative and found a setup that works for you and got you off the smokes. I'm a tootle puffer myself and proud of it. I'm perfectly happy with an iStick and GS Air or Nautilus and don't really care whether anyone else likes that setup or not. But I think that you'll find that most of the people in this forum are very welcoming, no matter what your vape style.

P.S. Come join us on the tootle puffing thread. There's a lot of nice people there:

    Ok, what's a Modwomper? lol

I don't really know... There's a giant thread on it though that you will see pop up every day in the new posts section. I think it's not like super high wattage vaping, it's like 25W-50W? Could be wrong though.

Modwompers... squonking? I'm lost. And I just barely learned what a tootle puffer was. LOL

    I'm on my way! Thanks.

Squonking is the action of squeezing the bottle in a bottom fed mod. Bottom fed mods are where a mod is outfitted with a mechanism to feed juice through the 510 connection. You have an atty with a hole drilled in the bottom connection so it can feed juice up through the bottom using a removable bottle built in to the mod.

    Here is an example:
